Trick or Treat

Teresa went home sick today so I took over her job and they called in a sub for my job. Her job besides serving is basically to get all the fruit and veggie bowls ready for lunch and get the sub/salad bar ready.  I got out just after 1:00. We gave the kids sherbert ice cream as a Halloween treat.  At home and I got out the boys halloween costumes and got mittens and hats out to take in case they got cold.  Jared got out of work early and got home just after the boys.  We hurried to get ready and then headed to Melissa and Bruce's house.  It was very cold and windy this morning but felt much better this evening when the wind died down.  The older kids ran house to house so they were very warm and didn't even wear coats.  Bruce made chili and homemade bread which was so good!  He even made me some chicken chili!  The kids watched a show on tv while we visited.  We got home around 10:00.

New coats

Eli made this paper mache donut for Daddy.  Daddy took it to work
I had to be to work at 6:45 am so Jared took the boys to school this morning.  I went in early because our head cook is off today so I was covering another shift.  Before getting ready for breakfast I started making 75 sack lunches.  I left work around 1:00.  At home I worked on washing and rinsing the wool yarn we had dyed yesterday.  I still smelled like the boiled chestnut hulls.   I talked to Vikki on the phone and did some cleaning.  It was raining so I drove down the road to get the boys.  The boys played with legos and Nik came over for an hour.  After dinner this evening we went to town to look for coats for Jacob and Adam because they have outgrown theirs.

Talking to Nik on their walkie talkies

After church we went shopping.  Adam took the pop bottles back for me.  It sure was busy at meijer this morning.  I saw my cousin Shani in the store.  At home we watched Andy Griffith and had pizza for lunch. Jared and Adam went to TSC to get a ton of wood pellets.  I started boiling chestnut hulls to make a dye.  When Jared got back I helped him unload the trailer. Nik came over to play for several hours.  He brought over his walkie talkies which are the same as Jacob and they had a lot of fun playing with those.  Jared and I finished drum carding Della’s wool.  We also kept an eye on the yarn being dyed to make sure it didn't boil.  This evening we watched Andy Griffith and had popcorn pop and ice cream.

Pumpkin carving!

Haha Adam!

Adam, Eli and Jacob's jack-o'-lantern's

The boys were watching Andy Griffith when we woke up this morning.  Jared and Adam headed into town to get our Saturday morning goodies.  I worked on plying my yarn.  Around 11:30 we headed to the soccer complex for Eli's soccer game.  Just before Eli's game was over Adam's game started.  Eli scored a goal in the second half.  After Adam's game he and Jared went to Pizza Hut with the team for a party.  I went home with Jacob and Eli and finished plying my wool.  Jacob played tanki on the computer and Eli played with legos.  Adam had a lot of fun at the party.  Jared finished plying his yarn this afternoon.  Adam and Eli played Tanki.  We took a drive to get pumpkins and saw our neighbor John. His cows are grazing across the street from where we got our pumpkins.  After dinner we carved pumpkins.  Adam ran to the barn and got gloves to used for cleaning out the guts.  Eli loved cleaning his pumpkin.  Jacob does not like to do that part but Adam and Eli helped him clean his.  Jacob and Adam carved their pumpkins and Daddy helped Eli with his.  Adam wouldn't let us see his until it was finished. After they were done we lite them and the boys ran around in the dark.

Vikki made these bracelets for the boys

Today was a half day at school so I went into work at 8:00 and stayed until 11:15.  Adam and Jacob meet me at the van and we went to the elementary get Eli.  From there we headed to Nana and Papa'a.  Sue was there and stayed to visit with us.  Mom made a yummy salad for lunch.  Vikki came over too and made bracelets for the boys.  I worked on grooming Mocha's.  I gave Mom the grooming arm that came with my new table because it was for small dogs.  It sure is nice to have that for Mocha and Abby!  At home we watched Andy Griffith and had dinner.  The boys listened to Daddy read before bed

Holding kitty's on the swing by the fire

Covered another shift at work today.  Adam came though my line and bought a cookie.  I always enjoy seeing both boys at lunchtime and I especially love when they come through my line!  When I got home I started washing Della's wool.  I also did some drum carding and spinning.  When the boys came home they played their computer time.  Then Daddy took Adam to soccer practice.  Jacob worked on a presentation for school and  Eli did his homework.  When Adam got home he asked if we could have a fire in the woods.  It was cold and we enjoyed sitting on the swing by the fire with the kitten's.  Adam had no clothes on and really wanted to jump in the pond.  The boys were running around in the yard while pushing Eli (who was holding a flashlight) in the wheelbarrow.  We came inside and Daddy read to the boys.  Jacob stayed up until almost 10:00.  He is memorizing his presentation and wrote it on notecards.

Went in early this morning to make over 100 sack lunches for the high school.  Stayed a little late today.  Got home and worked on washing Fyrne's wool.  I also did some spinning and talked to Vikki.  When the boys came home they helped pack lunches.  Then Adam studied his spelling words while giving Eli his spelling words.  Then I quizzed Adam on his words.  Eli brought his words to Adam to correct and Adam told him he needed to write more neatly.  Jacob read a Calvin and Hobbes book.   Adam is in a play (goldilocks) in his drama class and has a couple lines. He really enjoys this class. Eli worked on his math and reading.  Then Adam and Eli played minecraft.  Jacob played packman on the tv.  This evening Jacob worked on a skit for school.  Adam and Eli played with legos.  Jared and I finished washing Fyrne's wool and it is drying.  We also did some spinning.
