Burying Sophie :(

Nik came over after school and the boys played outside.  It was another beautiful day.  Jim, our neighbor, came over today and said he saw a cat that was hit by a car over by Doug’s mailbox on Stark.  Jared stopped on the way home to see if it was Sophie and it was.  He brought her home so we could bury her.

After work I worked on taking pictures and posting new pottery.  Nik came over after school and the boys played outside.  It was such a beautiful day.  We are missing Sophie, the mom cat.  The boys helped me search for her but we couldn't find her.

Ewe #16 had a single boy

Eva's boy lamb

Eva and her lambs

Daddy said to get a picture of him paying Eli for a mug he sold (which he had glazed).

We went out to check on sheep this morning and Ewe #16 was lambing.  We could only see the head and one leg.  I tried to push the lamb back in but couldn't.  It was a large lamb.  I found the other leg not far back behind the head.  After straightened it out I helped her deliver her lamb.  She has always had twins and triplets but this year just a single.  Its a boy weighing 15.8 lbs.  Daddy, Adam and I went to town to get groceries and pizza.  We watched Dragon training while eating lunch.  Nik came over for a couple hours.  The boys played outside for the first hour.  Jacob was sitting on a dead branch over our ditch but the branch broke.  He was caught buy some shrubs and pickers which kept him out of the ditch.  The new lamb is doing great.  This evening we lost power for several hours.  It was a very windy day and some trees had fallen down on power lines.  We used the generator for our microwave and tv and had popcorn pop and ice cream. We watched the movie Wonder which was very good.

Fryne's twins,

Looking at blueprints to Nana and Papa's house

We loaded the kiln this afternoon.  Went to JcPenney in Saginaw so the boys could get their pictures taken.  After pictures we went to Toysrus to walk around.  Went to Nana and Papa's house to visit.  Nana made pizza and subs for lunch.  I trimmed Mocha.

Eli getting his haircut

Today was a half day at school.  I picked the boys up and we headed home.  I left for a work meeting at the high school and was there until just after 2:00.  Jared met me at the barber so we could get Eli a haircut.  We stopped at McDonalds for a shake afterwards and went to meijer.  We walked around the toys so Eli could give me some birthday ideas.  This evening Jared and I glazed pots.

lambs in the creep feed

I stayed late at work to do inventory with Linda.  At home I worked on posting pottery on etsy.  Jared came home early and went to pick up our lamb's creep feed at the Freeland grain elevator.  Once home we unloaded the grain an got the creep feed stall ready for the lambs.  Adam made a tent on the deck.

This morning Jared and I got up early and unloaded the kiln.  After work I let the sheep out to enjoy the beautiful sunshine.  I worked on taking pictures of our new pottery.  This evening we went to parent teacher conferences for Jacob and Adam.  Adam came with us and Jacob and Eli stayed home. The lines were long to talk to the teachers and Jared and I split up.  We were there for almost 3 hrs and got home around 7:30.  We made grilled cheese and ate a late dinner.

Eli entertaining us

Daddy and Eli pretending to play harmonica's while listening to music

Mom came over for a visit after work today.  We went to the barn to check on the sheep.  She got to feed Grandpa his bottle.  It was a beautiful, rainy day.  Mom and I played a game of 3-13 and I won! She started strong but I pulled ahead at the end for the win.  Adam wanted to show Nana the songs he's playing for his concert since she's gonna be in Florida.  Eli is counting sleeps until his birthday.  Jacob spent the evening reading his book.  Adam, Eli, Daddy and I finished our game of 3-13 and Daddy won.  Hopefully we will be able to open the kiln in the morning.
