Blanch, Fryne, and Della.  Fyrne is looking very uncomfortable

First lamb of the year!

Tubing some colostrum

Two healthy boys!

After work I went to the barn to check on the sheep.  Fryne was laying in the corner and when she got up it looked like she had been laying there for a long time.  She kept sniffing her sides which is a good sign that she was in labor.   I went out and spied on her and she was pawing a lot so I knew today was the day!   I let Jared know but he was in an important meeting.  He headed home after his meeting but stopped at the school to pick up Jacob who started 7/8th grade Jazz band today.  Jacob was worried about joining because they're are some really bad 8th graders on his bus.  He said the kids are nice and he really enjoyed it!  When Jared got home I check Fyrne and could feel a lamb but she wasn't dilated completely.  We left her alone for awhile and took a walk in the woods.  After about an hour we checked on her and she was laying in the corner and had a lot of mucous.  We decided to give her another hour before checking on her again.  Inside I asked Eli if he wanted to play 3-13 and he said he’d have to check his schedule.  He asked for help writing a schedule and he fit our game into his schedule.  We went back out to check on Fryne but she was not dilating enough for the lamb that was coming so I helped stretched her cervix and delivered the first lamb.  It was a boy and weighed 12.2 lbs.  We called Grandma right away.  The boys were lots of help getting us towels and other needed items.  Jacob ran to the house to get me some more iodine.  I checked Fryne again and the next lamb was coming butt first.  This lamb felt really different and wasn’t helping at all which made it more difficult to deliver.  The lamb was dead and a little deformed on its mouth.  It was a black girl weighing about 9 lbs.  We tubed some colostrum to the first lamb and continued drying him off.  Fyrne was also doing a good job licking him.  I decided to check Fryne again and there was another lamb coming head first with its elbows tucked.  I helped her deliver this one and was excited when I saw its white legs!  We didn't expect a white lamb from Fyrne and Oscar.  Its a white boy weighing 10.6 lbs.  We tubbed him some colostrum and towel dried him.  Both lambs are doing great!

Adam has been walking into school with me in the mornings.  Mrs. Gaumond walked in with us this morning and Adam held the door for us.   Work was very busy.  After school Adam and Jacob practiced their instruments and Eli did his reading.  Then Jacob and Adam played Tanki.  Adam went outside to play on the ice until dinner time.  We made taco's for dinner.  After dinner Jacob did some reading and we watched a When Calls the Heart.  Jacob and I played a game of 3-13.   Eli played with legos in the bathtub.  Adam is reading the BFG book.

Eli was being silly while reading his book

Adam's nose looks better today but he says it feels worse.

I had to finish Teresa’s shift today because she had to leave on a family emergency.  I also stayed late to do inventory with Linda (head cook).  Stopped at the post office to drop off a package before going home.  Nik came over after school and the boys played hide and seek outside.  Then they went to Nik’s house for an hour.  After dinner Adam and Eli played on the computer.  Jacob, Daddy and I played 3-13.  Eli was having fun with the glitter and glue.  Adam took a bubble bath and made some pillows out of lambing gloves filled with water.  Jacob played Tanki.  Still no lambs!

Adam was accidentally hit in the nose with a pvc pipe - ouch!

It was another beautiful day!

After church Adam came shopping with me while Jared and the boys went to get the pizza's.  They also took back some library books.  Jacob said his friends have been asking why he has two middle names.  We told him how his great grandparents started it and he laughed.  He really likes having two middle names.  Nik came over after lunch.  Jared and I worked on trimming and pulling handles.  The boys played on the sand hill and then went over to Nik's house for an hour.  We got our reservations booked for Copper Harbor.  Bummed that we won't be able to camp right next to Grandma and Grandpa this year.  The sites were not available.  Jared and I had a few kitty's following us while we walked in the woods. This evening we watched When Calls the Heart and had popcorn pop and ice cream.  Still no lambs!

Della and Francis

Eli is layered to play outside.  He put shorts over his pants haha

Adam and Eli got up early and watched Angry Birds on tv.  Jared and Adam headed into town to get Sat goodies.  Jacob slept in until 8:30.  Jared and I worked on fixing some lights above the stalls.  It was a beautiful day and we all enjoyed being outside.  Jacob came inside to do some drawing.  Nik came over after lunch and the boys played on the sand hill with army men.  Jared and I opened the windows in the house and made some pots. The boys played on the computer after Nik went home. Nik came back for a couple hours this afternoon and they went out to play on the sandhill again.  Jared and I took a walk in the woods.  It was windy and sunny.  Adam and Eli made a blanket fort in outside and played in that until dinnertime.  This evening we watched When Calls the Heart.  Then Jacob and I played a game of 3-13.

Fyrne

The weather was really nice today but it was windy.  Nik stayed home from school today but came over this evening.  He couldn't play on the ice so they played outside with nerf guns.  Still waiting for lambs!  Jared and I have been taking turns going out at 3am to check.

Adam and I were on the ice and noticed the kittens playing on the top of the fort.  Then we heard and saw Clare and Koala go down the curly slide. We went over there and Koala climbed back up and came back down the slide.  Funny kittens!

Nik came over and the boys played on the ice.  Nik took a fall on the ice and hit the back of his head. His parents took him to the ER and he has a mild concussion.
