Day 7

Jared and I were up around 7am and the boys were up at 8am.  After breakfast we took a walk with the boys around the campground.   We stopped to play at the playground. Around 10:00 we headed to Calumet for some allergy medicine. On our way back we stopped at Eagle River.  We ate pb&j sandwiches for lunch.  It was chilly on the beach, 61 degrees and windy.  The boys played in the water and said, "Its so warm!"  On our way back we stopped at the Jampot for goodies.  We ate them by Jacob's falls.  The boys were asking to get out at Great Sand Bay.  They had fun playing on the sandhill.  They also played in the water - burr! It was around 64 degrees now.  Eli got cold and wore Jacob's t-shirt and my sweatshirt over his shirt.  He snuggled on my lap.  We stayed for a couple hours.  The boys and Daddy caught grasshoppers on our walk back to the van. We took the grasshoppers back to camp in a chip can.  The boys asked if we could stop to see Leslie so we did.  They got to raku paint some things they'd made last year and some letter disks (spelling their names) that Leslie had made for them.  Back at camp Jacob and Adam took a walk with Grandma over to the fort.  We took a walk around the campground.  Eli was tired and asked to ride in the stroller.  He fell asleep and continued sleeping until dinner was ready.  After a late dinner the boys played with sidewalk chalk.  Then Grandma and Grandpa came over to sit by the fire. Adam asked if we could take a walk.  We took Norman with us.  Got to bed around 10:30.

Day 6

Adam found this piece of drift wood and Jacob helped him carry it back to camp.

Making popcorn

At the Berry Patch

Jared and I were up just before 7am.  Jacob was up around 8:00 and the other boys woke up soon after that.  Grandma and Grandpa came over until all three boys were up. Then Grandma headed back to their site to make pancakes.  After breakfast we took a walk around camp.  The boys rode their scooters.  Then Adam walked with Grandma and Grandpa over to Pebble beach.  We weren't far behind them as we headed there too.  Norman got to go for a swim.  Adam found a large piece of driftwood and Jacob helped him carry it back.  We stopped at the Fort playground on our way back to camp.  Got back to camp around lunchtime.  The boys played with the toys and their big ship (driftwood).  Then Jacob and Adam took a bike ride over to the fort store because they planned on together buying a package of plastic cannons/carts.  We walked to the store with Eli because he wanted to buy some rocks.  Eli picked out mostly hematite rocks because they're his favorite.  It rained this afternoon.  We made some popcorn and sat under the awning. Took a walk around the campground while it was sprinkling. It rained for a couple hours.  After dinner we went for another walk.  This evening we went to the Berry Patch for ice cream.  Then we sat by the fire until bedtime.  Grandma and Grandpa and some friends sat by the fire with us.

Day 5

Good boy Norman

Leslie and Jacob

Daddy drew this boy riding a scooter

Jared and I were up around 7am.  Soon after that Jacob was up and came to sit by us.  Adam and Eli slept until around 8:30.  It was a cloudy, cool day.  After pancakes we took a walk around the campground.  Jacob took a couple laps on his bike but Adam and Eli stayed by us on their scooters.  When we got back Adam asked if we could take a bike ride with just him.  Grandma watched the other boys and Norman while we went for a bike ride.  The boys had fun with sidewalk chalk at Grandma.  We walked over to Pebble beach and hiked along the shore.  Then we hiked the trails over to the east campground.  Eli found three feathers and gave one to each of his brothers.  We stopped at the fort playground and the boys play there for a little while.  Grandma and Grandpa were there too.  After a while we headed back to camp for lunch.  This afternoon we went to town and dropped Jacob off at the shop with Leslie. He got to spend a few hours there with her and a couple other little girls his age.  They got to create art with clay.  We took Adam and Eli to play at the school playground for about an hour and then headed back to camp.  Daddy and the boys took a bike ride and then played with the sidewalk chalk.  Around 3:30 we went to town to pick up Jacob.  He really enjoyed his time there. Thank you Leslie!!!  Back at camp Daddy got a fire ready for our hobo dinners.  Daddy and Jacob played some catch with Grandma's ball scoops. Adam played some too. Eli rode his scooter.  We took a walk around the campground after dinner.  Sat by the fire with Grandma and Grandpa this evening.  Grandpa was showing the boys how he makes his hands disappear (in his sleeves).  Then he had Jacob count his fingers, folded them and had him count again, only 9!  The boys had fun doing this trick.  Then Eli tried it and said, "It didn't work."  We made smores.
