7/31/21 (Day 16)

It rained during the night. We were up at around 6:30. We woke the boys and started packing. We finished just before 9am. We ate breakfast at Grandma's. There was pancakes and bacon. Eli and Adam went to the fort store for one last pop out of the machine. We left around 9:30.  Stopped in Marquette for lunch.  We got sub sandwich supplies and Eli picked out some donuts.  We stopped at the gas station for drinks before crossing the bridge.  We got home just before 7:30.  The boys were quick in helping unload everything from the van and put away the kayaks. Everything in the house was put away and there was just a huge pile of laundry.  I started the first load of laundry.  Jared vacuumed out the van.  Then the boys were happy to relax and play minecraft. Jared started mowing the lawn which was really long and I pulled weeds in the new flower beds.

7/30/21 (Day 15)

Hiding wood for Kristen and Kevin

10 ft falls

We were up early with Adam. I woke Jacob and Eli. Eli asked if he could play 3-13 with us. Grandma came over and played too. Jared won and Eli had the high score. After breakfast we took a walk around the campground with Adam and Eli. Eli stopped at the campground hosts site for some hot chocolate. Eli and I played another 3-13 game and Eli won. It was a close game. He was happy to get his first tally mark in the book. We played some games of Kubb with the boys. The last game was Jared Grandma and I vs the boys. They won. We took and hid the rest of our firewood for Kristen and Kevin. We saved enough for our fire tonight. Jacob and Eli walked the pop bottles into town and split a couple bucks. We played 3-13 with Adam and he won. We were all very close. We also played some games of double solitaire. We headed to 10 ft falls and I read as we drove. Jacob wanted to get pictures of the falls. Adam and Eli hiked up the stream. Both came back with wet shoes. Back at camp we walked with Grandma and Grandpa over to the fort store for ice cream cones. Grandma and Grandpa treated us - thank you!   We played a game of 3-13 and Adam won. Jared and I had over 200 points!   Jacob and Eli took the kayaks to the fort store for pops. Adam walked because he wanted to get steps. We worked on packing and taking down the screen tent. Jacob was a huge help with cleaning out the van and packing. It sprinkled a little. Adam and Eli played in the water and had a great time. Grandma and Grandpa came over to sit by the fire. It was chilly. Grandma sat on a burning ash and it burned a big hole in the towel she was wrapped up in and her sweatshirt. There was a burn spot on her shirt and it left a small burn on her back. After Grandma and Grandpa headed to bed the boys remembered some big blueberries they saw on the trail and wanted to go pick them and surprise Grandpa. They walked in the dark almost to town and picked blueberries as they walked the trail back.

7/29/21 (Day 14)

Pebble beach

Playing the Kubb game

Funny boys

Grandma's in the kayak!

I woke up just before 6am and heard the white throated sparrow. We got up and played a game of 3-13. I won. Grandma and Adam played with us and Jared won. Adam and Grandma were the low score for most of the game but they got stuck with points in the end. Jared was even surprised to win. We went for a walk around the campground. Then we played the Kubb game with the boys. We went to Pebble beach to look for nice rocks to bring home. After lunch we played 3-13 with Adam and I won. Jacob and Eli walked into town so Eli could take back the pop bottles. We played several games of Kubb. Jacob and Eli rode bikes to the  Berry patch for italian ice. We drove to town with Adam to get some. Adam and I got banana and Jared got strawberry flavor. Jacob chopped some wood in half and then split it with the axe. The boys and Daddy hauled wood in their kayaks to the other side of the lake. We will check and see if they are still there next year.  Jacob splashed Adam with the paddle to get him back for the other day. Then Adam flipped his kayak and went for a swim. Jared, Adam, and Eli went to the fort store for pops. When they got back we helped Grandma into Adam's kayak. She enjoyed it and did great!  After dinner the boys went back out in their kayaks. Adam and Eli rode in the same kayak to the other side of the lake. Adam and Eli went for a swim. They sure had a great time. We took a walk around the campground. Then we sat by the fire with Grandma and Grandpa. The fire felt nice and warm on this chilly night.  Eli bundled up in his hammock and ate some popcorn. I made him a smore since he was all bundled up. I burnt the marshmellow but he said that was fine. Then I dropped his s'more in the dirt so had to make a new one.
