Oscar and Della are doing great!

Today we traded paddock with the ewes and the lambs.  One of the lambs is lethargic and isn't eating its grain.  The ewe that had this lamb lost both her lambs last year (one when it was about this lambs age).

We've been treating all the ewes for rain scald with antibiotics and betadine spray.

Playing with Nik

Today we cleaned the barn and the sheep's stall.  We also did a lot of work in the woods.  Jared did some weed whacking and cut out some small stumps that were on the trail.  He also cut down a couple small dead trees.  I worked on getting rid of pickers.  We put a fire pit out in the woods and plan on putting a bench out there.

Jacob blowing his horn to call us in.

Truman can't seem to keep any weight on him.  He's sleep a lot and seems happy. We love him!  The boys love when Daddy tells them Truman stories.  Their favorite is the story about Truman peeing on the electric fence. haha

Daddy found a painted turtle

The boys slept on their cots in the living room last night.  Adam came to sleep on our floor during the night.  They woke up early and watched tv.  I knitted on our wool blanket as we drove to get chocolate milk and donuts. Our our way home we drove past our old house.  It was a cool, rainy day.  Adam’s soccer game was at 1:45 and they played in the rain. There were no extra players for our team today.  Adam was goalie for part of the game.  We stopped for groceries before heading home. The boys played for a long time in their bedroom with legos. Jared and I took a walk in the woods with our umbrellas as it was raining.  We opened the barn so Della and Oscar could get in from the rain but they didn’t stay in the barn long.  They were soaking wet this evening when we put them in their stall. After dinner we watched I Love Lucy. The boys were laughing so hard during it.

Last day of school.

Showing Aunt Bippi how he can write his name.

After dropping the boys off at school we headed to Nana's. On the way there I dropped Eli off at Sports Zone to hang out with Papa.  Papa then took him to Tim Horton's for donuts.  Mom and I worked on clearing shrubs from their small woods. When Dad got home he started a fire.  Then Mom went in to get lunch ready.  She made a really yummy chicken salad for lunch. Vikki and the kids came over.  Dad helped me finish the woods.  I was using the dull loppers to cut down the shrubs.  Then Dad brought out the hedge trimmers which made the job go much faster.  Then Eli sat on Papa's lap while he mowed a path through the woods.  Today was the boys last day of school.  Jacob had a read-a-thon, watched a movie, and had a pizza party with the 4th graders.  Adam said he had a lot of recesses and played kickball.  The boys got their report cards and we are very proud of their hard work this year.  Jacob is reading at a level O and Adam is reading at a level N.  Jacob starts middle school in the fall and he says he's a little nervous about it.  This evening the boys did some target shooting with the air gun.  Jared and I took a walk in the woods. The boys slept on their cots and we watch I Love Lucy.

Eli caught a toad

I haven't been to the thrift stores in awhile so I went to Salvation army and Goodwill this morning.  Tomorrow is Jacob and Adam's last day of school.  Eli's last day is on Wednesday.  Nik came over to play after school.  Dad gave us Grandma's air rifle and we did some target shooting with it.  Nik ran home to ask his parents if he could try shooting it.  The boys took turns until it was time to head to soccer practice.   Jacob got his new glasses this evening.  He was amazed with how clear everything is and says they are so comfortable.  Did some more target shooting this evening.  The boys made points on the target and kept score.

Goodbye Nana and Papa

This evening we celebrated Jacob's 10th birthday with Nana and Papa.  It was a beautiful day outside so we sat on the deck.  Jacob sat on the glider and worked on some drawings.  We snacked on some yummy fruit.  Then we took a walk in the woods.  Jared grilled hotdogs and hamburgers and we had chips with our dinner.   Mom, Eli, and I took another walk in the woods. We dug up some plants for Mom to take home and put in her woods. Then we walked around the farm.  We came in for cake/ice cream and sang to the birthday boy.  Jacob opened his gifts from Nana and Papa.  He got a dollar, a new shirt, and minecraft legos!  He sat on the glider and put his new set together.  He didn't want us to look at it until it was finished.  Mom and I took another walk in the woods.  Jacob walked Nana and Papa to the road as they were leaving.

Happy Birthday Jacob!

Our 10 year old!

Not so easy to give this tough guy birthday spankings.

He was really hoping to get a cot

This little orange kitten has a really hard time holding his head straight.  He's much smaller than the other two.

Jared and I were up around 5:30 to blow up some light up balloons.  At around 6:30 we woke the boys.  Today we celebrate Jacob turning 10 years old!  He was so excited! Adam didn’t want to get out of bed and was acting grouchy.  Jacob loved his minecraft birthday cake. Daddy tried to give him birthday spankings but only got to about six.  Jacob opened his birthday presents and was able to guessed some of them before opening.  He got gum, colored pens, a sketch book, a clipboard container, minecraft legos, a water rocket,  and a cot. He can't wait to sleep on his cot tonight like his brothers have been doing.  Adam help us shoot the party poppers and that cheered him up. The boys ate breakfast while I took care of the animals. We took Jacob cupcakes to his class.  At home Eli helped me plant grass seed in some bare spots.  We water it using the water rockets.  Then we took a walk in the woods. Eli had fun playing in the big box and drew on the inside of it.   At lunchtime we headed to school to take Jacob a McDonalds meal.  Jared picked the boys up from school early.  Jacob got right to building his minecraft legos.  Daddy and Adam played a game on the computer.  Then we sat on the deck and held the kittens.  Jacob shared a box of his poppers with all of us. We asked Jacob what he wanted to do this evening and he decided he wanted to stay home.  He said, "I like just hanging out at home and playing with legos."  He spent a long time sitting on the glider and drawing with his new pens.  Daddy gave him some drawing tips.  Nik came over to play for an hour.  We had pizza and breadsticks for dinner and watched Marmaduke.  Then we sang to the birthday boy and had cake/ice cream.  I made milkshakes.  Jacob lit the candles on his cake but kept blowing them out when he blew out the match.  It was really funny!  After the movie was over Jacob wanted to do some drawing.  It rained hard this evening.  Adam and I took a bike ride.  Then Adam played in the sandbox for a little while. Jacob is really loving his new pens and was still drawing when we came inside.  The boys are sleeping on their cots tonight and we put the light up balloons on their beds.  It was such a fun day celebrating with our 10 year old!
