Checking out the Junebug

The boys and I had such a fun day today. First we went to Touch a Truck Day at the library. The boys got hardhats and sat on lots of trucks and tractors. Jacob wanted to sit in the garbage truck first. Adam was acting shy at first so he didn't get to sit it that. Next we sat in the water truck. It had a large back seat so I went up in it with the boys. Adam followed us up and thought it was really cool. Jacob was facinated with the roll down windows. After that we walked through the squad truck. The boys tried on the heavy helmet. Jacob talked to the policeman and asked a couple questions. The boys made their way to the front and sat in the driver/passenger seat. They loved honking the horns on all the trucks. Jacob saw several of his school friends and gave them hugs. The boys liked staying to watch all the trucks take off. We ate a packed lunch. Then we headed to the post office, dollar store and to McDonalds for Hot fudge sundaes. We went back to the library for Move and Groove. Jacob and Adam were all over the room dancing and having fun. Eli was dancing too. Adam said, "I love Move and Groove!" The boys then played at the train table. Jacob made a new friend. We stopped at Goodwill and the boys picked out a couple matchbox cars to buy. Jacob was so excited about his cars and showed them to some ladies in the store. We stopped at Walmart and the boys wore their hardhats in there. A couple ladies commented to the boys that they liked their hats which got the boys excited to tell them all about Touch a Truck Day at the library. At home I tucked Eli in for a nap. The boys played with their cars on the car mat. Eli woke up just after we finished dinner. After he finished eating we went outside. Eli is fast at climbing up the ladder to the fort. He went down the slide with Adam. Jacob caught a junebug and Eli liked seeing it.

After breakfast this morning Adam was flying his paper airplane and said to Jacob, “Watch this bad boy!” Eli loves to wave lately. He was sitting by me on the couch but as he backed off it he stopped to wave bye to me. The boys watched Popeye. Eli went over to sit on the couch by his brothers. The boys sure have been playing with the duplo legos a lot. They love to build huge car haulers, campers, boats and other things. They play so nicely together. Eli was acting tired and when I asked if he was ready for a nap he said “uh huh”. After laying him in his crib he called “A-yum” The boys lay by him in his crib for a few minutes. We went outside and played house. The boys love playing in the apple tree. I screwed a board across some branches so they could have a little fort which they love. They have a little rubik's cube keychain which they said is their weather radar. Jacob told me what all the colors mean, like red means really extreme. We came inside for lunch. Eli woke up and we ate lunch a little late today. Then we went back outside to play. Eli liked being pushed around on the tricycle and ringing its bell. I trimmed the apple tree and the boys helped me haul all the branches to the burn pile. Around 4:30 I tucked Eli in for another nap. We watched Thomas train while I did my afternoon run. The boys were hiding in their tree fort when Daddy got home from work. They picked a couple apples which I peeled and they ate. After dinner we went back outside. The boys went back to playing in their fort. Adam said, “Hi Mom, were officers. The boys “painted" the deck and house with water. Eli painted too and really liked doing that. Jared went on the roof to clean out the gutters. After he finished Jacob and Adam got to go up on the roof with him. They thought that was really cool. We found a baby toad. Eli is right there with his brothers wanting to touch the it too. Norman was outside with us most of the time today. He loves chasing balls or frisbees. We all took a bike ride down our road. This evening we called Grandpa to sing Happy Birthday to him.

Silly boy!
This morning the boys watched Popeye which they thought was really funny. Eli was acting goofy and walked around the house with his blanket over his head. The boys sat at the table to draw. Adam showed me how he can write his name. Yesterday Jacob drew some really neat jets, airplanes, and helicopters. We are getting so excited about our trip to Copper Harbor. The boys are counting sleeps – 5 more sleeps! This evening we spent outside. Adam went down the slide with Eli many times. The boys had fun pretending they were builder men and fixing my house. Jacob put some things on my roof to protect my house from tornados. Eli learned how to climb up the slide. He also can climb the ladder to get up in the fort.

watching the storm
After church today we let the boys play at the church’s playground. Jacob and Adam had fun on the tall slide and teeder todders. I pushed Eli on the swing and the teeder tooder. We went to GoodTimes and ordered a pizza. Bill, the owner of GoodTimes, has a large pizza on the sides of his truck. The boys went in with Daddy to get the pizza. Jacob said when he gets older he’d gonna show Bill his truck which will have monster trucks on it. We stopped at Tim Horton’s for coffees. The boys and Daddy ate the whole large pizza – soon we’ll have to get two pizza’s the way these boys eat:) After lunch I rocked Eli before his nap. He always starts humming for me to sing with him. Jared worked on taking all the branches to theburn pile and also trimmed our weeping tree by the house. I worked on packing for our Copper Harbor trip. The boys rode their bikes in the driveway. We went into town. I took Eli into Meijer with me for groceries. Jared, Jacob, and Adam went to Home Depot. This evening we watched Spirit. There was a thunderstorm and the boys like watching the radar on the computer. The boys got to talk with Grandma on the phone this evening.

Watching Daddy mow the lawn
After our Saturday morning donuts we went to the wooden park to play. Jacob and Adam love playing hide and seek there. Eli had fun swinging and walking around on the playground. Adam loved going down the fireman pole. Eli went down the curly tube slide a couple time and liked it. We got home just before lunchtime. Jared mowed and swept the yard. Adam likes to help Daddy sweep the yard. The boys were excited when I told them we were having mac-n-cheese for lunch. We pray for our meals and Eli also folds his hands and bows his head. And when we say Amen he looked up fast and screams excitedly because its time to eat. Nik and Meagan came over for a few hours this afternoon. Then after dinner Jacob went over to their house to swim. After about an hour I went back on the bike with Adam and Eli to pick him up. This evening we all went on a bike ride down our road. Jacob got to talk on the phone to Grandma this evening. I noticed a grey tree frog back into our light by the door. Jared unscrewed the light and caught the frog. The boys liked seeing that. Eli also wanted to touch it.
