Max and Jacob

Eli and his stash of candy

We got to the school around 9:30 for the the 6th annual Trick or Trot.  There were about 200 participants this year.  This 5K race started at 10:00.  Jacob finished first in his age group and 3rd in the overall. His finished time was 22:42.  Adam finished 2nd in his age group (1-14) and Eli finished 9th. Adam's finished time was 24:45 and Eli's was 31:57. Mr Shepherd (the band director and cross country coach) and some of the cross country mom's are trying to recruit Jacob to join.  The boys sure had a lot of fun.  After the race there was a raffle.  Jacob won a $25 card to the movie theater.  We dropped the boys off at home and then headed into town for groceries and pizza.   We played some minecraft bedwars with the boys after lunch.  At around 2:45 we headed to Vikki's house.  Vikki got a new phone so I am getting her old phone.  Rody switched over the phone for me.  We went to Mel and Bruce's house around 4:30.  It was cold and windy.  Bruce had a fire going.  We visited and ate warm chili.  Mom made me turkey chili for me which was so good!  The kids had fun trick or treating around Aunt Missy's neighborhood.  Adam didn't want to dress up this year so he stayed and helped pass out candy.  Eli and the younger kids went in a group and Jared and I walked around with Max and Jacob. When we got home Jacob started working on his homework.  We watched an I love Lucy before tucking the boys in bed.

Jacob's game

Adam's game

Adam's team wanted a picture together after this game

Eli's game

Jared left around 7:30 to go get our Sat goodies.  We had to be to the soccer field at 9:30 because Adam refereed at 10:00. After dropping him off we went to Dunhams to get Eli some new shin guards.  We also stopped at Walmart and the Halloween store to see if Eli could find a costume that he liked.  He really wanted to go as a ranch bottle but that costume was sold out everywhere.  So he is just going to go as a soccer player. Adam's feet were soaked and cold so Jacob gave him a pair of his new thermal wool socks.  Adam had to be to his soccer game at 11:15 for his noon game.  We are playing an undefeated team that is really tough.  Our team played so well and it was a very tense game.  Both coaches got yellow cards.  Pastor Scott was unhappy about a bad call but he apologized to the team for getting the yellow card.  In the first half Adam scored on a penalty shot from almost the halfway.  It was an amazing shot and his team was so happy. The field was soaking wet with standing water all over.  It rained for most of the game.  Jacob refereed at 11:30.  Jacob was assigned to center ref three games today but he didn't feel ready for that so he didn't accept those games.  He also didn't want the added stress with all the homework he's had.  His boss thinks he's ready so he is going to assign him to center ref a U8 team next week and he will be there to mentor Jacob.  After Adam's game we went to the van and someone said his daughter, who has her permit, just hit our van.  It did some minor damage that he wanted to pay for.  He gave us his buisness card but we aren't going to have it fixed.  Eli was sitting in the van when it happened.  Jared took Eli to his game so he could warm up with his team.  I took Jacob to TSC to get some more wool socks because his socks were soaked.  With his Raynaud's condition his feet and hand need to stay warm or they get painful.  He also used hand/feet warmers which helped alot.  I made it back in time for Eli's 2:00 game.  Eli played center defense against a tough team.  His team lost but they played hard.  Jared and I were happy to have waterproof boot to keep our feet dry.  We also sat under the sunbrella which kept us dry.  Adam refereed for Pastor's Scott's daughters team at 2:30.  Jacob's game was at 4:00 and Adam refereed again at 4:00.  Jacob's team ended in a 6-6 tie because in the last few seconds of the game we headed the ball into the other teams goal.  We had made dinner when we got home and watched tv.  Then we played bedwars with the boys.

It was a rainy day today.  Jacob slept in until I woke him around 9:30. After dropping Jacob off at school I went to town to get Jacob a hat, mittens and thermal socks.  This evening Jacob had a soccer game. It was cold and rainy. We stayed mostly dry under the sunbrella although it was blowing in some.   Adam and Eli stayed home.  We played some Minecraft before bed.

Playing with the soccer ball with Daddy

Today I trimmed mugs and added handles.  I made some double handled mugs too.  This evening Jacob refereed a fusion game from 5:30 - 6:30.  Adam had soccer practice from 6:15 - 7:15.  We stopped at the store to look for halloween costumes for Eli and Jacob.   Jacob had a lot of homework to work on when we got home.

Jacob with his new bike

Jared took the morning off work and we drove to Lansing to pick up Jacob new trek bike.  We stopped at Tim Horton's on the way for coffee and muffins.  Wyatt came with us on the drive.  We got back around lunchtime.  Jared went into work.  I made mugs on the wheel.  We didn't tell Jacob about the bike until later.  As soon as Jared got home from work we had to leave for Eli's soccer practice at 5:30.  We ate dinner on the drive.  Jacob had a soccer game at 6:00.  He realized he forgot his jersey at home so we dropped him off to warm up with his team and then headed home to get his jersey.  After dropping me off at the game Jared took Adam to youth group.  Jacob was out at the start of the game and Jared made it back as he was going in.  It was sprinkling out so we sat under the sunbrella.  Jacob had a nice shot on goal.  His team won 3-1.  I left just before Jacob's game was done to get Adam from youth group.  Jacob had alot of homework to do.  I asked him to take out the recycling to the barn.  He was frustrated because he wanted to start his homework but he ran it out anyway.  We hurried and parked his new bike in the living room. He laughed when he saw it and we sang happy birthday to him. Just 6 months late.  He was so happy to finally get it.

I finished the salt pigs today.  I made some with handles and some into pigs with ears, eyes and tails.  Adam had soccer practice this evening.  The soccer fields were closed so his practice was moved to the church and the time was changed.  Eli had his first band concert this evening and had to be there at 6:30.  The concert started at 7:00.  Jared took Adam to his practice which started at 6:15.  It ended at 7:15 but Pastor Scott said it would be more like 7:00 because it's getting so dark by that time.  He said he would wait around with Adam after practice until Jared got there.  Jared stayed for Eli's band but left to get Adam after it.  Nana and Papa came to the concert too!  It was a great concert!  Jacob stayed home to work on homework.

10/25/21

I made salt pigs on the wheel today.  It was another rainy day.  Both Jacob and Eli's soccer practices got canceled.  The fields are too wet.  After dinner we took a drive to find pumpkins.  The boys carved their pumpkins this evening.  Adam wanted help cleaning out his pumpkin guts.  They all had fun carving their pumpkin's.  They wouldn't let us see them until they were finished.
