Jared here for Turkey day extravaganza 2018.  We headed to Georgia for Thanksgiving.  We left Tuesday afternoon when Kimmy got home from work. I think around 3pm.  Traveling went well and we made it down to London KY and stayed the night in a red roof Inn.  What’s the difference between an Inn and a Motel?  So we woke up early the next morning had breakfast and hit the road.  A nice drive down to the lego store and then on to the Monastery.  We made it there just fine with no exciting events, which was nice.  Kimmy wonders how I can make it to work everyday  with out her pointing out people breaking etc etc.

We had  a great week in GA.  We made it down Wednesday just in time for Adam and I to go with Uncle Rick, Uncle Dee and Mom to the grocery store.  Uncle Rick fed us again this year.  Thanks Uncle Rick.  I had nothing to do with those chocolates making their way into the shopping cart.  All uncle Dee.  It was so funny, we were in line with all three shopping carts.  I was in the back with the last cart all of the items on mom’s list accounted for.  And then all of a sudden these various packages of chocolates come flying into the cart. CRASH.   I look up and Uncle Dee is just standing there looking all innocent.  I busted up laughing, he said it would of been a lot smoother if I could of maintained my composure.  but it was so funny. Sneaking in those few things, Uncle Rick didn’t notice till after all the groceries were unpacked.   Thanks again Uncle Rick.  We were fed well.  Mom brought the turkey and veggies and we ate well all week.  Many many wonderful apple pies were slaughtered.  Polished all the ice cream off early too.  All that ice cream for breakfast,  mmmm.

Uncle Rick pulled out his bags of “treasures” to share with the boys and adults.  Pens and bags and scissors and umbrellas  and pens and this and that, Stars logos, and tubes and cardboard.  We all got our fair share and hopefully we cleared off his table at home for another year.

We had a nice visit with many of the Monks.  Toured the bakery again and Brother Philip and Brother Emilio shared some wonderful chocolate dipped Biscotti.  It’s always fun to tour the bakery and chat with Brother Philip and Brother Emilio.  Brother Mario was doing a hard sell on a lot of the jellies.  Very good Award Winning jellies.   Bother Peter-Damion came to the house for a few visits as well.  Always nice to see him and chat.  Mom hemmed up a lot of different pieces of clothing for Uncle Dee and Br. Peter Damion.  They are both becoming Priests in June so they needed a few things fixed before the big event.  Fr. Uncle Dee Cassian.

A game or two of 3-13 were played during the vacation.  Ok many many many games of 3-13 were played.  Poor Uncle Dee couldn’t get any runs, except for the hands where he did get a lot of nice runs.  Quite a bit of teasing and laughing.  We took a nice walk around the property as well.  Always such a nice walk.  Very nice weather, cool but quite nice.

We left early Sunday morning around 5:15 or so.  Made it home by 7.  Picked up Wyatt on the way home.  Good to see our puppy again.  Drive home was nice and uneventful… long drive.  Still feel like I’m moving.  Kimmy said I did “amazing” driving home.  Lots of traffic but it moved well.
