Adam and Hope
Liam and Eli

Jacob and I went to Nana and Papa's this morning.  They had a tree that had fallen and needed to be cleaned up.  Papa had all the branches loaded in the trailer.  Jacob started a fire and helped Papa burn the branches.  Jacob had a long wire from his braces poking into his cheek.  It couldn't be covered with wax and was really bothering him.  Our orthodontist is closed on Fridays as is our regular dentist.  Mom called her dentist who was open today but they were completely booked.  They called back and said they could get Jacob in at 1:45!  Jared picked up the boys from school.  The Dentist was super nice and funny. He joked with Jacob about extracting his tooth.  Then when we were done he said, "Oh your a Sparty, let me back in there." Haha. This evening was Meridian Bands festival concert.  Jacob came too. Meridian band did great and received all 1's.  Liam texted Jared and asked if he could come to Culver's with us.  We didn't know we were going to Culver's but Eli had mentioned that that would be fun to do after festival.  We decided to go and take Liam too.  We also picked up Adam and Hope so they could come with us to Culvers.  Jacob stayed home.

Eli is wondering what we are making out in the barn that he can't come see.

Our power came on around 4am.  Jacob's bedroom light was still on when I went in his room this morning.  Eli said his light came on when the power did too.  Jacob went to McDonald because he wanted a shamrock shake.  I left a little early to get Adam because I had some things to get at the store. Adam went with Hope and her sister swimming at the community center this evening.  He had a great time.  They went to Dairy Queen afterwards.  Jared and Jacob built a knife throwing target out of some scrap wood.  It turned out really nice.  We played a game of 3-13 with the boys.  I felt kinda bad but I won again.  Everybody is happy when I lose!  Haha.  Jared had the high score.

Bring the generator close to the house
This tree on the wire could be the reason our power is out
3-13 in the dark

After Jared left with Adam this morning it started sleeting.  It was very windy outside today.  When I left for school with Eli the van was covered in a sheet of ice.  There was thick ice on the windshield that was hard to scrap off.  I stopped at the post office on the way home.  At around noon I headed into town to do some birthday shopping for Eli.  I shopped until it was time to pick the boys up from school.  I didn't have to pick up Eli until 4 because he has jazz band.  When we got home there was no power.  Adam went right away to the barn to get the generator.  The boys worked on getting it started.  It didn't want to start but Jacob kept working at it until it was running.  Jacob then got the pellet burner plugged into the generator and going.  The boys hooked up the wifi and the tv.   Jared stopped and picked up pizza's on the way home from work.  I worked on trying to get air and heat to the fish tanks.  I tried making air with potatoes and peroxide.  And I used ice melting salt and water bottles to make heat.  Neither method lasted very long.  I ended up taping some hand warmers to the outside of the tanks with painters tape.  They wouldn't stay warm thought covered in tape.  So we only covered part of them and that worked to keep them warm.  We were able to run an extension cord to Eli's room for his tanks.  We watched a movie.  Jared and I played 3-13 and I won.  Later Jacob asked if we wanted to play another game of 3-13.  Jared won.  It was fun playing in the dark with the candles.

Jacob's first time voting!
We tied!

Jacob woke up before I left with Eli this morning.   I did some cleaning and worked on laundry. Nana came over around 10:00. Wyatt was super excited to see her. He was singing, shaking, and almost knocked her over once.  It didn’t take him too long to settle down. Mom brought me a new plant start, a Kalanchoe. I made toasted sub sandwiches for lunch. We played 3-13 with Jacob and I won. Nana was in the lead most of the game. We took a walk outside. Visited Bo in the barn and gave him treats. Then took a walk around the yard and in the woods. The weather was so nice today, warm and low 70’s. After school I dropped Adam off at Meridian high school. He’s running the track with Hope and her sister. I worked in the flower beds.  Hope brought Adam home. When Jared got home we left with Jacob to go vote for the presidential primaries. This is Jacob’s first time voting. Yay! He was glad to get to vote.  Adam was leaving on his bike when we got home.  He was meeting Hope at Mills market.  They are closed for good now.  Jared and I played a game of 3-13 this evening and it ended in a tie.

I worked on my blog today, still trying to catch up.  Jacob slept in.  He enjoyed target shooting with the pellet gun.  Didn't see any starlings today.  Picked Adam up from school and dropped him off at Meridian high school.  He wanted to say hi to Hope while I picked up Eli.  This evening we had pizza and watched a movie.

2/25/24

After church I went into Meijer to get some groceries.  Jared picked up pops for the boys and pizza's.  We watched The A-team and had pizza for lunch.  Adam had a futsal game at 2:00.  It was a great game to watch as the teams were closely matched.  We had lots of shots on goal but just couldn't get the ball in the net.  We lost 2-0.  Jacob sure enjoys shooting Jared's new pellet gun.  We played several games of 3-13 today.  Jacob played a game with us before bed.  Jared had the high score but Jacob and I were pretty close.  I won 3 of the 4 games played today.  Yay!  Nobody was cheering for me.  Haha.  The boys had fun playing a game on their phones with Hope.  I cleaned the bathroom drawers and lined them.  We watched a movie tonight and had popcorn pop and ice cream.

Eli's new bamboo shrimp

Jared went to town to get our Saturday goodies.  Jacob slept in until noon.  Jared really wanted to shoot some starlings with his new gun but he they weren't coming to the feeder.  Jared and I played a few games of 3-13.  Poor Jared, I won them all.   This evening Adam had a couple futsal games. His friend Hope came to watch his games.  She sat by us and we enjoyed talking to her.  She is joining the national guard and will be gone for a couple months this summer.  She plans on going to CMU for nursing and music.  Her Mom is Eli's Spanish teacher.  Jacob and Adam also had her for Spanish.  Her Dad was Peyton and Isaac's Art teacher.
