Around 3pm I noticed that Ewe #33 was lambing so I called Jared and he headed home. He made it to our road around the time the boys got off the bus so he brought them home. They played quietly on the hay while we watched and waited. We were hoping this ewe would have a single (she often does) because she has mastitis. After a while of no progress we checked her to find that this lamb was coming head first. It was a large lamb and it elbows were tucked. I extended the legs and helped the ewe deliver her lamb. The boys watched from a distance because this mom is very protective. We were surprised to see the color of this lamb. She is so cute! Jacob is going to use her for his 4H lamb and has named her Star. Our scale wasn't working but a at 2 days old she weighed 17 lbs.
