7/8/23

We got to talk to the "ATM lady" this morning.  Jack may think we are a little strange. Haha.  We went to Apple bagel for Jack and I.  Also went to Tim Horton's for donuts, muffins and coffees.  The boys picked out drinks from the gas station.  We picked Claire up and headed to the campground in Standish.     Today we are going to Tawas.  Claire and Adam rode in the car with Nana and Papa.  The rest fit in our van.  It turned out to be a rainy day.  We had fun walking around some antique stores in town.  Peyton found $20 on the ground. Adam bought Claire an Olaf keychain.  It was raining much harder when we were leaving.  Adam ran to the cars to look umbrellas.  Nana and Papa treated us all to G's pizza for lunch. Thank  you!!  We had a lot of fun walking around the shops in town.  The Ben Franklin store was really crowded.  Jacob and Adam both got a metal earth set.  Adam bought Claire a necklace and part of a shirt that she liked.  He said he bought a sleeve and she bought the rest.  I got a green Michigan sweatshirt.  Eli bought a hematite ring.  Nana and Papa, Claire, Adam and Kenzie headed back to the campground.  We walked in the rain out onto the pier.  We had umbrellas but the kids got very wet.  We then went to Dairy Queen for blizzards.  Jacob and Eli were still too full and got pops.  Back at camp Adam and Claire went swimming.  Jared Kenzie Jacob and Eli played several games of sequence.  Then we played skipbo.  The teams were Jack and Nana, Jared and I and Adam and Claire.  Adam and Claire won.  We headed home and dropped Claire off at her house.  Jared and I took walk in our woods.  Looks like we got a hard rain.  I worked on the flower bed until it was too dark.  We watched Tim Hawkin's.  Jack came home with us to spend the night.

 I took Jared to work this morning.  He drove on the way there and said it felt like he was crashing every time he hit the brake.  He brought his bike because there is a long walk from where I can drop him off.  When I got home I worked on edging] and weeding in the flower beds.  After a couple hours I went inside and woke the boys.  We headed to Walmart to get a new bike rack.  From there we headed to the campground.  Kenzie was at the campground today.   I got to feel her baby kick a couple times today.  Jacob started a fire so he and Kenzie could cook their hot dogs.  We were sitting outside under the awning and a bunch of water fell off of it, several times.  Our legs got wet.  Jacob got more wet than we did.  Kenzie Adam and Peyton went for a walk in the woods.  We took Jack and Eli swimming at the pond.  Jack came home to spend the night with us.  Jared rode his bike to the corner of stark and saginaw rd.  We picked him up there.  We grilled burgers for dinner and watched Rio 2.  It was a funny movie.  Jack and Eli played outside until late.  Jared and I unloaded the kiln and smoothed the bottom of the new pots.  

7/6/23

Adam had therapy this morning.  It was progress report day.  She did a lot of testing that she did on his first visit.  She is seeing improvements which is good.  Bruce met us there to drop off Jack.  He and Eli are spending the night at the campground with Nana and Aunt Bippi.  We got to the campground around lunchtime.  It rained pretty hard.  Jacob and Adam didn't come with us.  Nana made chicken salad sandwiches of lunch.  Yummy!  Mom and I played a game of 3-13 with Peyton and Isaac.  They got bored with it so we decided to make the queen round our last round. Nana won.  We took a walk around the campground.  Vikki and I took the kids to the beach to swim.  They had fun with the water balls.  Jared called and said he was just in an accident!  He said he ran a stop light and hit someone.  I could hear someone asking him if he was alright.  He said he thought both vehicles were totaled.  I was sure glad he wasn't hurt and neither were the other people.  Jared was feeling really bad but I was just so thankful that he wasn't hurt!  I left right away to go to him.  He said the people that he hit kept coming over to him and asking if he was ok.  Then they came over and gave him a hug and prayed with him.  Before the accident Jared had stopped and got a soft serve ice cream cone.  He said the light was green and the he look at his ice cream to take a bite.  When he looked up he was going through the red light.  We stopped the the auto shops to see both vehicles on the drive home.  Jared stayed home with Adam and I took Jacob to his Eddy band rehearsal.  I went shopping at Kohls because I had some Kohls cash to use.  I had fun walking around the store.  I ending up getting a pair of sketcher shoes for Jared to surprise him.  He had tried them on last time we were there.  He was surprised and happy with his new shoes.  Adam had a hard time getting to sleep tonight so he came to sleep on the floor in our room.  Jared also had a hard time getting to sleep.

 Nik came over this afternoon.  Adam had just got back from a long bike ride.  We visited with Nik's parents outside while the boys were inside visiting.  They were having a great time.  Nik's parents were ready to leave but Nik wasn't.  He said he was never going to be ready.  After awhile Nik called his parents and said, "Can I stay 1 more hour?"  Haha Nik alway used to call home and ask for 1 (or 2) more hours.  We always said yes.  The boys taught Nik how to play Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza.  We went to Jacob's concert in Saginaw. We really enjoyed the concert!  After that we took the boys to the Holiday Inn so they could go swimming with Nik.  Jacob said he loved talking to Nik about music.  They sure had a great time.  They swam until midnight.  The boys were very hungry so I stuck a pizza in the oven when they got home.
