Eli was feeling better this morning and didn't have a fever.  Eli had a half day of school today and it was his last day.  Saw a doe and her fawn walking down the road.  We went to Old navy because Jacob and Adam needed new swim trunks.  We met Vikki at my parents house so the kids could go swimming.  Bruce and Max came over for a few minutes.  We played some fun games of Kubb.  Vikki stopped at McDonalds to get the kids burgers and some fries to share for lunch.  They sure had alot of fun in the pool.  It rained for a little while and was cool.  We left around 5:30.  I took Jacob to his friends birthday party.  They were going to have a bomb fired.  The party went until 10:00.  Jacob had fun.  After dinner Jared and I played 3-13. I won but it came down to whoever went out in the A's round again.  We took a walk around the yard and in the woods.  We played some bedwars with the boys.

Adam helped me get the pen ready for the 4H lambs.  Then we picked out three lambs that looked bigger for the boys to use.  Adam helped me nail up a bunch of fencing that's was coming off the posts.  This evening we went to some people house that have 4H sheep and wanted help on learning how to train them. There was another family there as well.  The boys were very good at showing them things to remember and I went over a bunch of things with them too.  I wrote them a bunch of detailed notes and also told them about the book that really helped us with showing.  We stayed at talked with them for a couple hours.  We stopped for pizza and pops on the way home.  Eli isn't feeling well.  He has a fever of 101 and a sore throat.  He took a Covid test that was negative.  We will give him another test in the morning.

The sheep got out of the paddock and this morning Jared found all 24 of them in our neighbor Gene's property.  They were in his front and back yard and on his porch.  Some were eating his plants!  Jared went in his driveway and shook the scoop of grain.  Jacob had to go to school early. Vikki and the kids came over this morning. We had some coffee and visited.  The kids played Mario kart.  We sat on the deck.  The weather was perfect and cool.  The kids played with magnetics on the table.  We had chicken salad or turkey sandwich for lunch.  Vikki had to leave when it was time for me to pick up Jacob and Eli from school.  This evening Jared and I played a game of 3-13  and Jared won.  It came down to whoever went out in the A's round.  We took a walk in the woods and sat on the deck.  It started raining.  We watched the Jesus Music which was really good.

Jared took Jacob to school early to do some school work. I stopped at the post office on the way home from taking Eli to school.  I dropped off a package with the last three of the large double handled vases.  We've shipped 14 of those.   I watered plants and the garden this morning.  Adam took a long walk.  This afternoon we went to the library.  Adam got a couple short story Louie Lamour books.  We stopped at McDonalds on the way home.  Adam also got a frappucino from Starbucks with a gift cards.  When Jared came home from work we took a walk around the flowerbeds and also took a walk in the woods.  The neighbor kids came over for awhile.  After dinner we went for a walk in the woods.  We relaxed and sat on the deck for awhile and took another walk.

Sunday

Jared Here - Mom and Dad came north for a visit.  Mom brought about 50 of her kids with her.  or 50 plants from her garden.  They came with plants but also to see Jacob play in the Midland Concert Band on Sunday the 5th.  They arrived Thursday evening the 2nd of June.  Friday we planted and dug holes.  And dug holes and dug holes and planted and planted. And dug more holes and planted.  But wow do the gardens look fantastic.  Each morning mom was up early to go out and check on her planted kids. Saturday brought soccer games and Mom and Dad got to watch Eli and Adam’s last games.  Both very intense games.  Adam and Jacob also ref’d some games 3 each.  We met Adam back at the car after Eli’s game  - he was heading to his second game to ref and had the van keys.  Adam was locking the doors to the van as we got there.  He hit the lock button on the door and tossed the keys on the seat of the van and then shut the van door.  OOPS!!!  keys locked in the van.  It was funny, Adam had a bit of a “uh oh” look on his face.  Luckily Mom and Dad drove separately to the soccer fields and we got a ride home for the extra set of keys.  and then a bit of lunch and back to the fields for Adam’s game.  Adam is not allowed to touch the car keys for a while.  We had a good time and made some memories there for sure.  Several games of 3-13 were played. Your favorite score keeper didn’t win any.   We got the slide projector out in the evening and viewed some old slides some more than 50 yrs old - some showed a very young Uncle Dee — those were really really old slides.  Sunday brought church and popcorn pop and ice cream.  More 3-13 games.  Adam went to his friends Church youth group meeting.  He had a good time and talked about the different games they had played. We went to Jacob’s concert at 2pm - but it was raining and unfortunately was rained out.  It was an outside concert at a small park in Midland.  Jacob was awarded a scholarship from the Midland Concert Band and was asked to play with them along with other high school and Jr. High school kids.  it was really a bummer as those kids worked so hard and we were all really looking forward to the concert.  He had to turn in his music so we couldn’t even have a private concert.  We headed home.  Mom checked on her kids again - all was good.  Monday came and had to say goodbye but not before some Uno Flip games with Adam, mom and dad and I.  That was a lot of fun.  Mom and Dad left around 9 I think and I headed into work.  Came home and we planted the garden.  Got is all planted - I had to miss some of the corn planting and fence construction as I had to drive Adam to Guitar lessons.  I drove 62mph the whole way and was getting about 48mpg which is really good at over 5$ a gal.  Crazy.  Anyway Adam and Eli helped a ton in putting in the garden - those young backs and energy levels are really helpful.  Jacob was busying studying and helped clean up the mess at the end.  A huge help as well.  That’s about all I can think of.  oh Mom forgot her cpap mask so she used mine for the week.  I’m tired and ready to use my mask again…gotta take care of the old folk first.

6/1/22

Adam wanted me to wake him up early so he could run.  I woke him up but he was too tired to run.  He watched tv for awhile and then went outside a took a long walk.  Jacob worked on weed whacking.  I spent a much of the day working outside.  I dropped Jacob off at school at 12:30.  Adam and I started working in the woods digging up shrubs.  Jacob messaged me and said he'd forgotten his mouthpiece in his other clarinet.  He needed that and a reed so I went back to school to take him those.  Adam continued working in the woods.  We worked until it was time to pick the boys up from school.  Eli had to be at the soccer field at 5:45 for a end of the season party.  They had Jimmy Johns subs, chips and gatoraides for the boys.  They sure had fun.  We talked to Garrett's Mom for awhile.  Garrett also goes to Meridian.  They have horses so she gave us her farrier's number and told us who her vet is.   Eli's soccer game started at 7:15.  It got pretty chilly.  Nana and Papa came to watch the game.  Eli was goalie in the first half and played center defense in the second half.  We lost 8-1.  The boys played hard.  Jacob and Adam stayed home.  Adam mowed the lawn and Jacob tilled the garden.  We had pizza for a late dinner at home.  I waxed pots and we glazed the insides.
