bath time

Happy Mother's day

Wyatt slept in his crate in our bedroom during the night.  He went right to sleep and didn't make a sound until morning.  I woke up at 3:30 and took him potty and Jared took him potty at 6:30.  He got noisy in his crate and we got him out when he quieted down.  Adam took him out to potty.  I gave him his first bath today and he did good.  The boys gave me cards for mothers day.  Adam's car was coded so I had to work to figure out what it said.  Eli hid his card in his bedroom and it was under his dresser.  i got two more camping chairs and some starburst.  Mom and Dad and my sisters and their families came over to spend the day together.  Mom brought sloppy jo's, cheesy potatoes and chips.  After eating the boy went to play in the pond and find frogs.  Isaac loved helping with Wyatt and took him for walks in the woods.  Vikki and Peyton hung in their hammocks.  After awhile Jacob and Max played with legos and magnetics.  Nik came over and went in the pond with Adam.  Evan, Jack, and Eli took a bath/shower.  After everyone headed home Jared and I took a walk and sat on the swing  with Wyatt.  We called to talk to Grandma and Grandpa.

Meeting Wyatt!

Family photo with Wyatt and his mom

He was much happier in his crate

nap time

We woke up around 4:30 am and were on our way to Canada just after 5:00.  We stopped for goodies at Tim Hortons. The boys watched dvd's that we'd gotten at the library.  We got through the border at Port Huron with no problems.  Adam brought some money so he could exchange it for Canadian money at a bank. His $10 us dollars became $12.40 Canadian money.  He spent some at the gas station and wants to take the rest to show his friends at school.  We got there just after 10:00.  There was another couple already there picking up their “green collar” puppy.  She put on new collars and we took pictures outside with Wyatt and his mom, Brightly. Wyatt is such a cute puppy and we were so excited to meet him!  He sat on my lap for a little while but was whining so we put him in his crate.  We covered the crate partly with a blanket.  He quickly calmed down and fell asleep.  We stopped a couple time for a potty break and to stretch.  We got across the border into the US with no issues though it took longer and they had us open the side door.  We had to get a permit from the CDC to bring our puppy across the country line without a rabies.  He has to be quarantined until a month after he gets his rabies vaccination.   If he leaves our property the fine is $100,000 and/or 1 year in jail.  He can go to the vet only with a muzzle on.  We got home around 3pm and Megan came over to see the puppy.  Nik came over for a couple hours and the boys played with magnetics on the deck.  Then they played in the sandbox with the hose.  We took a walk in the woods which Wyatt seemed to enjoy.  He’s gotten used to his pen in the kitchen.  He plays so cute with his toys.  We let him run around the yard with his leash on but he stayed close to us.  We weighed him and he's 6.8 lbs.

I went in early today to help Linda get 400 cookies ready for a catering at the high school.  She had them all baked when I got there and I just had to put them on trays.  Jared stayed home from work and got our honey bees today.  This evening we had hot dogs for dinner made from our neighbor John's cows.  Tomorrow morning we are heading to Canada to pick up our puppy!!!

We overslept today and Adam woke us up at 6:30.  Jared took the day off work because he was expecting a call about picking up our honey bees.  Later this afternoon he got a call saying we could come get the bees tomorrow morning.  This evening Adam had soccer practice and Jacob rehearsed with the Concert band.

7/8th grade jazz band
Nik's jazz solo

This evening was the jr. high band concert.  Jacob needed to be there just before 6:00 to rehearse with the jazz band.  We walked around at the art fair before going to find a seat.  Jacob had a solo on one of their songs and the clarinets were featured in the last song.  I'll post videos soon.  Jacob forgot his music for the jazz band so he had to play from memory.  Jacob got a metal for march madness and was recognized for his scholarship from the Midland concert band.  Adam did great on his trombone too!  This sure was a great concert!  Afterwards we stopped at the gas station for pops.

I stay late at work today to help Linda make 500 cookies for the art show at the high school.  At home I cleaned out our snack cupboard.  The boys finished school work and then played their computer time.  Jared and I went to vote for Meridian's bond proposal which passed by 6 votes!  After dinner I headed into town with Adam for soccer practice from 6:45-8:15.  Nik came over and the boys played in the sandbox with the hose.  Jared worked on mowing the lawn.

I had to work late today to help with a catering job for teacher appreciation for the district.   Headed home around 2:30.   The boys were excited to see that the sand for their sandbox arrived today.  Jared and I worked on moving the sand into the sandbox.  I'm glad we were able to use the tractor for most of it.  Nik came over and the boys swam in the pond for over an hour.  Then they played in the sand until dinnertime.  After dinner we walked the recycling down the road and then took a walk in the woods.
