10-13-15

This morning we had our annual IEP meeting for Jacob at the junior high. Jacob was recently retested to determine whether he is still eligible for special education.  This testing is done every three years.  The testing results showed that Jacob is still eligible.  So today we went over the results of that testing and also the goals, objectives, and accommodations written in the IEP.  Today we also took the lambs to market in St Loius and Jared took the day off work.  The boys loved riding in Papa's truck to school.  While we were dropping off the lambs we met the nutrition manager of Armada feed.  We talked to him for awhile and he gave us a lot of helpful tips on growing and finishing lambs.  After about an hour we started on our way home.  As we were driving we hit a small bump in the road and when Jared looked in the mirror he saw the trailer go up and then down.  It was swerving and Jared said, "The trailer came unhitched!'  I thought the trailer was going to come passing us and hit the semi's in the other lane - yikes!  The safety chains did their job and we were able to pull over.  I  sure was nervous the rest of the drive home.

Jared had an appointment this morning at Matrix Pain where they are going to be doing his steroid injection.   Today's appointment was with Carolyn, the nurse practitioner.  She went over so many details and we felt a lot better after leaving this appointment.  The injection will be done on Nov 3rd.

Nana and Papa came to watch the boys play soccer today

Adam was goalie during the first half.  He did a good job.

After the game Nana and Papa came over.  They brought ice cream with hot fudge and M&M's.

Mel and her family came over this evening.  Bruce had to leave to go to work for a little while.  Max made these picture for each of us.  He wanted to deliver them in the mail but was excited to bring them to us.  I love them!

Evan helped me collect eggs.  The kids had so much fun and played outside for a long time.  We had a nice visit and sat by the fire.  Then the kids went inside and played school until it was time to leave.

Jared had an appointment this morning with the neurosurgeon.  The doctor recommends that Jared try a steroid injection into his spine.  A lateral herniation (like Jared's) has increase risks with longer recovery.  We were bummed that we couldn't get in for the injection until November 9th. Jared went to work and I headed to my parents house.  Vikki and the kids came over too.
