Day 10

Spinning helicopter toys from Dennis and Marcia Owens

They had a lot of fun with these.

Jared and I were up around 7:00.  Grandma came over to visit until the boys started stirring in the tent.  The boy slept until around 9:00.  After breakfast we took a walk while the boys rode their scooters.  Dennis and Marcia are here and brought the boys some fun spinning helicopter toys.  After lunch we headed into town to visit with Leslie.  Grandma was there too.  Adam, Eli and I walked over to the playground for awhile.  Then we took a walk to the Laughing Loon store and to another store for pops.  We got back to camp around 4:30.  The boys and Daddy took a bike ride and Eli rode his scooter.  Eli loves to show us his scooter tricks.  He can jump with one foot on the scooter, riding with one hand, or ride with both feet sideways.  He has fallen down many times and banged up his knees.  This evening Jacob used the hatchet to split wood and started the fire.  The Owens family came over so Brooke could roasts marshmallows and make smores. The boys loved showing Katrina their rock collections.  Grandma came over to visit with us.  Jared noticed some some scraps on her leg but she refuses to tell how it happened.  We took a walk with the boys.  Adam had his feet resting on the fire pit and we noticed how black they were.  Jacob took off his shoes to see how dirty his were but they were clean.  Adam said,  "What,  are you a baby?"  We were in bed around 10:30.

They used my beach bag to catch minnows

On their boat

Jared and I were up around 6:30. And the boys were up just after 7:00  Before breakfast Adam and I took a walk (Adam on his bike) around the campground.  Jacob played with the tractors at Grandmas site. Adam and Eli rode their scooters.  After lunch we headed to Eagle River.  It was 68 degrees when we got there and warmed up to 74.  The boys had fun playing in the river water, digging in the sand, catching minnows, and swimming in the lake.  We spent a few hours there and had a great time.  Got to camp around 5pm.  After dinner we took a walk around the campground.  Jacob and Adam rode their scooters. They got back to our site before us.  Daddy said, "I wonder where thing 1 and thing 2 are?"  Out they jumped from the tent vestibuie.  They were hiding in there with their scooters.  We sat around the campfire until bedtime.  Grandma and Grandpa came over and we made smores.

Day 8

Showing Eli how to whittle.

Hiking at Hunter's Point

Reading 39 Clues

)

Jared and I were up around 6am.  Grandma came over to visit with us.  Jacob was the first up around 8:00.  Soon after that Eli was up.  Jacob did some whittling with his knife.  He had Eli sit on his lap so he could teach him how to whittle.  He said, "Eli, maybe when your about 6 you can get your own knife and we can carve together."  Adam slept in until almost 9:30.  After breakfast Adam wanted to go for a bike ride so we took a lap around.   When we got back Eli asked if he could go for a scooter ride with me.  He can keep right up with me on my bike.  Daddy and Adam took a bike ride together.  Jacob played in the dirt with the tractors at Grandma and Grandpa's.  After lunch we headed into town and stopped at Dennis and Leslie's.  Grandma and Grandpa were there.  We stayed for a little while and then headed over to Hunter's Point.  We hiked out to the beach and relaxed there for awhile.  Had fun looking through the rocks for agaits.  After awhile we hiked along the shore to the point. Jacob found several agaits and Eli found one too.  We spent a few hours here and the weather was beautiful.  On our way back to camp we stopped to see Dennis and look at pottery.  Also stopped for pops at the store.  Back at camp we ate a late dinner.  Then we walked around the campground and stopped at the playground.  It was cool out this evening.  We sat by the fire with Grandma and Grandpa and made smores. Eli cuddled on Grandma's lap.
