11-16-13

Daddy/Uncle Jared brought home chocolate milk and donuts this morning.

The boys brought out blankets and covered their fort. Isaac didn't like being up.

Peyton and Isaac love the slide.

Jared rototilled the garden today. Chickens are happy!

Adam standing by our new white pine tree.

We did some rototilling on these hills by the ditch today. Someday, when Jared gets his tractor, we will move these piles. But for now the boys love to play on them.

Isaac loves the harmonica.

11-15-13

My sister had a medical procedure done and so these two cuties get to stay with us

Adam has been selected to participate in the Leveled Literacy Intervention program. He will have 30 min lessons during which he will read, write, and learn about phonics.

Daddy reading a new book that Jacob bought.

Adam reading the babies a bedtime story.

Today was Grandparents day at the boys school and my Mom went there for that. Dad had promised to take Kenzie hunting so he wasn't able to make it. The boys really enjoyed having their Nana come to their classrooms. They also got to take recess together, with Nana too. After school Nana took them to eat and play at McDonalds. They had so much fun! Jacob also bought book 1 of 39 clues so I started reading that this evening.

11-13-13

This evening Vikki and I attended a Roman banquet at Kenzie's school. Kenzie was in a skit and did great! We had so much fun!

This morning we had a meeting to got over the results of Jacob's testing. Because Jacob was tested at the school she did think she needed to retest him on some areas including the IQ test. She did look at his word reading and fluency which are still a problem. Jacob doesn't have good word attack skills. He struggles to decode words and often figures words out based on how they are used in the sentence. The results of Jacob's ADHD quotient are that he is very likely (95%) to have it. She recommends medicating Jacob for this. We need to make an appointment with Dr Thill to discuss our options. This won't solve all the problems but it will be easier for him to learn if he's paying attention. Jacob has a "double wammy" with Inattention and a Learning Disability. With medication at least it will take one thing "off the table". If we do choose to medicate we will redo the ADHD quotient a few weeks after we think we have the right medication.

Jacob had cubscouts this evening. They really enjoyed making these nice tool boxes.

Adam got to go too and be Daddy's helper. He also got to make a tool box.

Jacob helping Adam with his.

Then Adam got to surprise the boys and handed out screwdrivers.

Truman turned 12 years old today!

Writing from Jacob's Special Ed class.
(One day my Mom said, "Go and clean up your messy room." And I said, "Why do I have to?" She said, "Because guest are coming over.")
