Floating in the current

Dennis and Marsha surprised the boys with rocks that were actually candy - haha

Adam teaching Eli how to dry dishes

Adam slept in until about 9:30 and Grandma saved some pancakes to warm up for him. Jacob had all his bullet shells organized but they got spilled so he worked on reorganizing them. We took a walk around the campground with Grandma, Grandpa and Marsha. It started sprinkling as we were walking. It was around 60 degrees and breezy this morning. We took a walk over to pebble beach and walked along the shore. Daddy and the boys climbed on the big rocks. We hiked back on the trail with Grandma and picked blueberries. Adam and Eli ate them about as fast as they could be picked. It was around 1:30 when we got back to camp. After lunch we headed to Eagle River to play in the water. It was 66 degrees and cloudy but the boys didn't mind the cold water. The water that the boys usually play in was so deep in one spot that it came up to Jacob's chin. Adam was pretending it was deeper that it actually was in other areas.  Daddy found a huge piece of drift wood that the boys had fun riding on. Eli made a volcano in the sand.  The boys opened up the river so the water came rushing into Lake Superior. They  wore their floaties and floated on their back in the current.  Adam and Eli built a sand castle with a drawbridge.  We got back to camp around 5:30.  Dennis and Marsha brought over a surprise for the boys. It was a bag of rocks that he let to boys take turns picking out of. Jacob realized that they were actually candy when he squished one. The boy loved them! After dinner Jacob and Adam dry the washed dishes. Today Adam taught Eli how to dry dishes so he could help too.  We took a walk with Grandma around the campground. Jacob and Adam rode bikes. The boys played in the woods between our campsites. Adam and Eli were Jacob doggies. Dennis gave the boys a bag of corn chips that they used for dog treats. Tonight we sat by the fire and made smores. Grandma and Grandpa came over for awhile and Marsha stopped by too. We were in bed around 10pm.

Day 10

This pose was Jacob's idea

Canons at the Fort

Walking where the bridge used to be

Picking up bullet shells at the Clark mine

Dennis did some target shooting

Jacob made me these pretty bracelets

Many campers were leaving today so the boys rode their bikes around to look for wood. We found a some wood and Grandpa also found some for us.   Eli loves riding his scooter but we had him try his bike this morning. He loved it and wanted to go around a second time. This time he fell on the last turn.  We had him go again even though he wanted to take his scooter. He was nervous at first but did fine. Around 11:00 we went over to the Fort store to surprised the boys with orange push ups. We stopped to play on the canon at the fort for awhile on our way there and back. The boys thought Daddy was getting them push ups so they spied on him through the window. They were excited and thought their spying on Daddy was so funny.  After lunch we just relaxed at the campsite for awhile.  We found a chair at the dump that Jacob carried back to play with. The boys had fun playing on this old lounge chair for the rest of our trip. Around 2:00 we headed with Grandma and Grandpa and the Owen's to the Clark mine. Grandma and Dennis wanted to get some rocks from there. Norman liked wandering around there off his leash. The boys found a bunch of gun shells to collect. After awhile Dennis got out his pistol to shoot.  The boys collected all his shells too. We stopped to visit with Leslie on our way back to camp. The boys had fun playing games on her ipad. It was almost 5pm when we got back to camp. Eli fell asleep and we woke him after dinner. Daddy and Adam took a bike ride around camp. Jacob pushed Eli in the stroller and we took a walk. We sat by the fire with Grandma adn Grandpa and made smores.
