After church we came home and made pizzas for lunch. Jacob had made the pizza dough in the bread maker this morning. We went outside and helped the boys work on their teepee this afternoon. Grandma came out to help too. It was much cooler outside today. The lambs seem to be doing a little better. They are up and moving around a some.

This morning we went to Tim Horton's for donuts. Daddy and Grandma got a bagel from Big Apple Bagels. Then we went to Salvation army. Vikki met us at there and then came to our house.
My parents came over this evening to visit and joined us for dinner. Dad brought his new guns and the guys (and Kenzie) did some target shooting. We watched them from the window.
Adam love to steel Papa's hat.

Eating Grandpa's poptarts - grrrr
Grandma brought some material and Jacob sewed a bag for his teacher.
Adam asked me to tell Grandma that he's interested in sewing too.
We melted beeswax to coat these frames.

It was such a beautiful day to play outside. Kenzie helped the boys work on their teepee.
We found 3 snakes!
This morning Grandma noticed a small lamb lying down while the others were up and about or eating. Kenzie caught her and we saw that she had white scours, a very serious infection caused by E-coli. Dehydration, coma, and death usually occur within 12-24 hrs following the onset of clinical signs of this scours. We noticed that her brother also had it. Jared went to town for spectinomycin, Pepto-Bismol, and electrolytes. While he was gone Kenzie and I gave both lambs a bath and blow dried them. We put the mom and these lambs in a stall. They will get the antibiotic twice a day. We also tubed them with Pepto and electrolytes every 4 hrs. Grandma took care of our little bottle lamb (#22) during the day, feeding her every 4hrs:)

The boys had dentist appointments this morning. Before leaving Kenzie went to the barn to check on the ewes. She said I'd better go check on Ewe #32 (our last pregnant ewe). This ewe aborted her lamb last year. She has an anal and vaginal prolapse. Well she was in labor and pushing very hard which was causing her prolapses to worsen. We got her in a stall and I checked her. She was effaced but her cervix wasn't dilating. I tried to stretch her cervix but was only able to stretch it to about three fingers. We had to reschedule the boys dentist appointment. Eventually this ewe pushed so hard that something burst and she had horrible bleeding. She was bleeding like a faucet on low and constant. She lost too much blood and was dying. Jared came home and put her out of her misery. We tried to save the lambs but were unable to. A very sad situation! Uncle Jared and Kenzie dug a very deep hole and buried the sheep. Vikki and the babies came over and spent the day with us. Jared went to town and got us cappuccinos.
Thank you Bippi for the sweatshirts!
Kenzie tagged this lamb and banded its tail.

This afternoon I noticed that Ewe #16 was in labor. Jared walked into the barn just as the first lamb came out. We moved the ewe and her lamb into a stall. After a while of her pushing with no progress Jared helped her to deliver her second lamb. These lambs are huge!. The boy weighs 13lbs 6oz and the girl is 13 lbs. They are doing very well. This ewe also delivered boy/girl twins on April fools last year.
