9-5-11

This afternoon Vikki's water broke at 29 weeks pregnant with twins. We went to the hospital to visit her. Since her shower was canceled and she has been in the hospital alot she didn't have the baby books yet. We left the hospital to find books like the ones she wanted. On the way home we stopped to pick up their dog Izzy, who is going to be staying with us.

Eli's thumb

Day 1

Day 5

Day 9

Day 11

9-2-11

Jared and I woke up a little late this morning. I started my exercises and Jared got ready for work. The boys were up shortly after 8:00. Around 10:30 we headed to Jacob’s school to drop off some supplies but they were closed. Then we headed to the store for groceries. The boys took turns riding with Eli in the car as I pushed the cart. They were so helpful and we had a good time. I surprised them with some m&m’s. They ate a packed lunch on the way to the Dr’s office. Eli had an appointment to have his sutures removed. The boys plugged their ears when he cried really loud, though they did enjoy watching the procedure. Eli also cried hard as they fitted his thumb for a splint. From there we headed up to the hospital to visit with Vikki. She went in the hospital last night with very strong contractions. They said she was dilated to 3 and 100% effaced (she’s almost 29 weeks). Also Peyton’s head is all the way down. The doctor said Vikki will most likely have to be in the hospital for the rest of her pregnancy. Eli was very tired so I tucked him in his peapod for a nap. The boys played for a long time with silly puddy in the window. Kenzie took them for a walk to the tunnel which leads from one hospital to the other. They could see our window and we waved at each other. Eli waved at them too. Jared came to the hospital from work. I got to go with Vikki to for her ultrasound with the specialist. Eli was awake when we got back. Jacob and Eli took turns sitting on the bed with Aunt Bippi. We left around 6:30. The boys went home with Daddy and I stopped at the store to pick up my cold grocery items. Daddy had the boys fed but he and I ate a late dinner when I got back. The boys watched Fireman Sam until bedtime.

9-1-11

Yesterday I found a Little Tikes ride in car on the side of the road so I brought it home to clean up for the boys. They had a great time playing with that and their other ride on toys. I hung picturea on the walls in the bedrooms and worked on cleaning and laundry this morning/afternoon. Eli says “RAAR!” when asked what a lion says. He usually gets a funny smirk and holds his hand up too. After lunch Eli was so tired he crawled in his peapod to take a nap. Jared got home from work around 2:00. Adam’s teachers came over this afternoon for a home visit. They went over some information with us. Adam was quiet even though he's been counting sleeps for them to come. Eli was acting cute. Jacob talked with them and showed them several things. They took our family picture to hang on the wall in the classroom and also a picture of just Adam. Jacob gave them hugs goodbye. All three boys wanted to wave in the window as they left. After dinner this evening we headed into town for Jacob’s first fall soccer practice. The team did some drills and then played some. Jacob had a great time. Then Daddy and the boys kicked the ball around for a while. I was sitting in the grass and Eli would run at me to knock me over. Eli needed a new pair of short but I'd forgot to pack some so he had to wear Jacob's.  The boys loved scoring goals on Daddy and then running after the ball when he kicked it really high.

Explaining a budget
opening get well cards

Jared took the day off work to celebrate our 8th wedding anniversary. It was a wonderful day spent together. After breakfast we headed into town to Tim Horton’s and Dunken Donuts for goodies. As we were driving Adam said, “Can we go to the wooden park for your anniversary?” We did go there and had so much fun. I was playing with Eli and Jacob and Adam were having fun with Daddy. Jacob came over to me and asked, “Will you be the jailer’s (Daddy’s) wife?” We got home around lunchtime. Daddy made some doors and window in the box we'd brought home from Vikki’s last night. The boys had fun playing in their house with Truman. Around 1:00 I tucked Eli in for a nap. Jared and I went over some budget stuff. Then I touched up some painting in the house. We watched Dick van Dike. This evening Jacob’s school had a picnic which we went to. He got to check out his classroom and meet his teacher. Lauren (Jacob’s friend) and her family sat with us while the boys ate their hot dogs, chips, and cookies. We spent a little time at the playground. From there we headed to Pi’s to pick up our dinner order. We got home around 7pm. Eli received several cards in the mail today which he liked opening (with help from brothers). I tucked Eli in bed around 8pm. Today he finished the antibiotics for his thumb. Jared and I ate a late dinner while the boys watched Fireman Sam. After the boys were in bed we watched Monk.
