Day 1 (7/31/23)

I stayed up all night and was pretty busy. Jacob stayed up with me and was a big help. Adam stayed up too. Eli said he didnt sleep much.  Jacob was laughing at me as I told him a million things. I think he is going to have fun being on his own. He wanted to be awake to see us leave. We crossed the bridge around 7am. Stopped at the gas station and got out to stretch. Got drinks and had poptarts for breakfast.  When we got to the Hilltop in L’ance it looked like they were closed. They said there is not enough help so only their bakery was open. They warmed up sweet rolls for us and gave us waters. Grandma and Grandpa came while we were there!  We stopped at Walmart in Houghten for a couple things and got gas. We arrived in Copper harbor around 2:30. It was a nice cool day to set up camp. We finished around 6:30 and ate a quick dinner of sandwiches and chips. After dinner we took a walk around the campground and then called to talk to Jacob. He said he went to band camp at Meridian today to watch and see friends. He made taquitos for dinner. We took a walk over to Pebble beach. Adam didnt get much sleep today so his head was really hurting. We went to bed early, around 8:30. Daddy started reading to us from the first Watcher's book.

 We took Adam to his appointment in Mt Pleasant with Dr Pinney.  It went very well and he signed off so Adam can play soccer again.  Adam has improved in the last couple weeks and the Dr noticed some improvements.  Jared went to work and Adam and I went home.  Adam and I went into town to look at a used gaming chair someone was selling.  It's really nice so Adam bought it.  We stopped at Big Apple bagel on the way home.  We got a lot of rain this afternoon.  Eli went out in the tent for a long time  while it was raining.  After dinner Jared and I went outside to work on weeding the garden.  There were a lot of weeds.  We played bedwars with the boys this evening. 

7/25/23

Adam had a virtual meeting with the Dr from Henry Ford today at 11:00.  It went well.  Adam's headaches have improved greatly.  He still has headaches when he is concentrating.  The Dr said that usually takes the longest because it's the most complex.  He think in a couple more weeks that will be much improved as well.  We have another appointment after we get back from Copper Harbor.  I took the boys to the barber.  Adam thought he took too much off the top and he was so embarrassed he said he didn't want to go to soccer tonight.  He was having alot of anxiety about it.  I stopped at Walgreens and got him a hat.  The only hats they had were Midland Chemic hats which was perfect.  Adam felt much better wearing it.  I told him he better bring a hat next time we go to the barber because he's not getting a new hat every time the barber cuts it too short.  We headed to Nana and Papa's house.  Vikki and the kids were there too. Jack and Eli were gone with Papa.  We had a nice visit.  The kids had fun playing in the pool.  Jacob practiced his instrument.  Jared went home to change and came over too.  We went to Menards for a few things.  Adam decided he would go to soccer.  Jacob took the car and went to his Eddy band practice.  Jared and Dad played ping pong.  Vikki and I played vs Eli in ping pong.  Eli won both games.  We left when it was time to go pick up Adam from practice. We had fun playing bedwars with Evan and Eli.

7/24/23

 I took Jacob to Lansing today to get his student id.  We drove around the campus and around town.  We went to Culver's for lunch.  This evening we took Eli to Nana and Papa's to spend the night with Jack.  We sat out on the swings and visited.  Jack and Eli had fun shooting the bow with Papa.
