Day 2 (7-31-11)

Grandma and Grandpa stayed at a motel last night so this was the only morning the boys didn’t get Grandma’s pancakes for breakfast. We took a walk around the campground (Jacob and Andrew rode bikes). Adam helped push Eli in the stroller. Grandma and Grandpa came with us to walk the trail by Pebble Beach. Eric and his family were there and joined us. We looked for blueberries but didn’t find many. The kids had a great time playing at the playground. Then we walked over to the Fort and the kids played on the platform around the flagpole. Uncle Jared chased them, pretending to be a bear. Then the older boys went off to play on the cart. Eli was on the back side of the flagpole when he fell off the platform. He cried but seemed ok after I comforted him. We walked by the Fort and Jared caught a fly which he put in a spiders web. It was really interesting to watch the spider and reminded me of Charlotte’s Web. After lunch I tucked Eli in for a nap. Jared helped his parents get their tent set up. We sat by the road and watched the boys ride their scooters back and forth from our sit to Dennis’s site. Andrew came over with his scooter to ride too. Eli woke up around 3pm. We were concerned about him as he cried every time we pick him up. I thought maybe he’d hurt his shoulder or back when he fell and we gave him some ibprofen. We headed into town to see Dennis and Leslie and check out their pottery. Then we walked across the street because the boys wanted to sit on the orr boat and big chair at the Pines. It was time for dinner when we got back to camp. After eating walked over to Pebble beach. The breeze coming off the lake felt so nice. We went to the Berry Patch for ice cream cones. Got to bed around 10pm.

Jared has already described the Eli tale to me, but I am interested in reading about it here day by day . . .
