Day 13 (8-3-17)

Hunter's point

Driftwood for Grandma

Staying dry in the screen tent

We were up at 6:45.  It was chilly this morning.  Grandma came over and visited while we knitted.  The boys were all up before 8am. After breakfast we took our walk around the campground.  Then Jared left and went to Dennis's house.  Dennis took him to dig up some clay that we will be able to use to make a slip.  We played games in the screen tent. Jacob and I played a game of 3-13 and I beat him by 1 point.  He had just said it would be impossible for me to win.  The boys had fun playing with the squirt guns and chasing Kevin.  When Jared got back we made lunch.  After lunch we headed to Hunters point.  Just before leaving Eli fell hard on his scooter and skinned his elbows, knee and a finger.  He got 7 new bandaids. We stopped at Leslie's to drop off some sunflower seeds that Jared had got from Dennis.  She asked us to look for a couple nice rocks to put around her flower garden.  At Hunter's Point we hiked the beach until we got to the point. There we sat in the rocks and looked for agates.  The boys had fun climbing the big rocks.  On our walk back the boys found a large piece of driftwood that they wanted to carry back.  Then Daddy and the boys thought Grandma would really like this driftwood.  It got heavy for them so Daddy hauled it back the rest of the way back.  He was also carrying a load of heavy rocks in his backpack. Daddy and Eli picked a handful of blueberries to eat on the drive.  We stopped at the shop to drop off the rocks we'd picked out for Leslie.  They are calling for alot of rain and it started sprinkling on our drive back. We took a walk around the campground with our umbrella's. Eli walked with us and soon Adam found us on his scooter. Back at our site we played a game of 3-13 in the screen tent.  Adam then remembered we'd left Louie in the van and he paused the game so he could go rescue him.   Jared was the winner and had a much lower score than the rest of us.  When the game was done it was time to get dinner ready. After dinner we went to Grandma's to visit with her under their dining fly and Adam came to sit with us for awhile.  Grandpa was staying warm in the van. Jared and I took another walk around the campground in the rain. Then we joined the boys in the screen tent and played another game of 3-13. Grandma came over with something she was keeping dry in her coat. It was Louie!  It was cool outside and it was a long steady rain. Jared turned on the lantern for light and heat.  We went to bed around 9:45.  The boys were happy that we could get some extra reading in tonight.
