8-2-12 (Day 6)

Central mine

Eagle River

Cleaning his Copper with Grandpa

Brockway Mt

After breakfast Daddy and the boys rode bikes around the campground. Eli and I took Norman for a walk. Then the boys and Daddy joined us on our walk. Grandma and Grandpa were going to the Central mine and we followed them there. The boys were excited to look for copper. Grandpa used his metal detector and they found a bunch of copper and even a couple “chips”. Jacob was most excited about the copper. From there Grandma rode with us to Eagle River. It was a beautiful day (mid 70’s) and we spent a few hours on the beach. Eli fell asleep in the van and continued sleep back at camp. Grandpa was cleaning his copper finds from today so we went over to see what he found. Jacob brought his copper over to scrub up. Before dinner we took a walk with Grandma around the campground. Adam brought some sidewalk chalk so he could make some marks by the arrows. Eli wanted to mark the arrows too. Around 7:00 we went to town to play at the school playground. The boys pretended to be firemen. It started sprinkling so Jared went back to camp to put up tarps and zip up the windows in the camper. We drove up Brockway Mt. It was 59 degrees and rainy up there. We took a little walk around up there. On the way down we saw a beautiful rainbow. Grandma and Grandpa came over to sit by the fire and we made smores.
