Curt and he team arrived around 9am to start working on taking down the huge cottonwood tree by our house. Curt is Miss Connie's son and goes to our church. I used to work with his mom and she kept Eli supplied with skittles. We spent the day watching Curt up in the tree hanging by ropes and cutting down limbs. He needed to take the weigh off one side so it would fall in the direction they wanted. They tied the two trees together because the were a little concerned about them splitting apart. When Curt cut into the tree at the bottom it started pouring out water. Lots of water kept coming out of the tree. Curt asked the boys if they wanted to play in the sandbox one last time. The tree was going to fall on top of the sandbox and we expected it to break. I prayed that the tree would miss the sandbox. The tree came down right on top of the sand box but missed it completely! One side arched right over top of it and the other landed right by the side. Yay! Curt is also going to be taking down a bundle of 5 cottonwood trees in the woods. He took one of those down today. After he left we started working on cleaning up this huge tree. We found a birds nest that was in the tree. Two baby birds were dead and one was alive and begging for food. It was a cedar waxwing. We fed it a worm and Eli put its nest in the maple tree. We don't know where the baby bird went to because later it was gone. Melissa and her family came over this evening. Max wanted to look for some pieces of wood to take home for his animal enclosure. Melissa helped me fill the wheel barrow with branches to put on the fire. They left around 8:00 and Jared left to take the boys to youth group. They are having a bonfire and cookout. Then they are also watching a movie on a big inflatable screen. Jared and I worked until we couldn't see well enough. Then we came inside and watched What if. Jared picked the boys up at 12:30. They all had a great time.

The boys look so small compared to that tree.
