Day 1

Jared got up around 3:00 and we were heading north around 4:15. When we were a little way down Stark rd Jacob said he’d forgot his airpods. We turned around to get them. There was a load thud as we hit something. Jared said, it was a racoon. I said, Alive?”  Jared said, Not anymore”. Haha.  Jacob Eli and I slept most of the way to the bridge. We got to the bridge around 7:00. It was really foggy. We got out at the gas station to stretch. The boys got pops. We had pop tarts for breakfast. It was nice and cool, 55 degrees. We arrived in L’anse around 12:30. We shared a couple sweet rolls at the Hilltop. Eli has never liked sweet rolls until this year. We stopped at Walmart in Houghten. Got out in Kearsarge to walk on the stone boat. We arrived in Copper Harbor at around 3:30. Took a drive around the campground and found a huge log. The log only fit in the van if Jared moved his chair all the way forward. We spent the next couple hours setting up camp. The boys were a huge help. It sprinkle off and on. After setting up we had yummy sandwiches for dinner. The boys took their kayaks across the lake and found the wood we had hid there last year! We took a walk over to Pebble beach and the boys rode bikes. The water is really low. We walked along the beach and then up on the trail. The boys went back for their bikes so they could ride the trail back to camp. Eli said it was really hard. Adams chain fell off. They had alot of fun. We went to bed around 8:30
