7/9/22

We were up around 8am.  I started working on getting the fire going again by raking it and adding wood.  I raked and hauled wheelbarrow loads with branches and leaves to the fire.  I took a break when Jared got back with Saturday goodie. I had my muffin and coffee on the back deck.  Then I got back to work and Jared started cutting the tree with the chain saw.  The boys watched some tv and then came out to help.  They rolled big logs to a pile for Dan.  We used the logging chain and the tractor to move the stump to the fire.  It was too heavy for the tractor to lift.  Jared used the tractor to roll the stump to the fire.  We're hopping we can get it burned before we leave on our trip.  After we finished with that tree the boys went in to eat a late lunch and take a break.  Eli found a piece of wood that he thought looked like a horse.  He got out the carving tools and worked on it on the back deck.  He carved Bo's name (Night Bolter) into it.  He used the Dremel to finish it and sanded it.  He enjoyed watching the birds while he worked on that.  Jacob and Adam took a bike ride to the store for pops and a treat.  They brought something home for Eli.  Jared and I worked on cleaning up the tree in the woods.  When Jacob and Adam got back they helped us with the big logs.  I'm really glad that job is done.  The boy went inside to play minecraft and watch tv.  Jared and I sat on the deck.  Eli came out to work on his horse.  Jared fell asleep on the glider.  We sat chairs in the front yard under the maple tree.  It was nice and cool out.  After dinner we played a couple games of bedwars with the boys.  Then I went to town to do some shopping.  I got home around 10:30.  Jared had the fire going good and plans on adding logs every couple hours.  We sat by the fire for awhile.

When I see the size of this tree, it sure makes me realize all of the hard work you all did. Wowza!
