Day 6

Hahaha

Grandma on a scooter!

Look out boys!  Go Grandma!

Jared and I were up around 6:30.  Jared took Norman for his morning walk.  Then we got the camp kitchen and cooler out and started the coffee percolating.  We knitted until the boys woke up around 7:30.  Eli slept until 8:00.  Jacob played catch with Norman and Adam sat with Louie.  Eli walked around with Frankie tucked in his sweatshirt.  After breakfast we took our walk and the boys rode scooters.  Then we relaxed in our hammocks and did some knitting.   The boys played in the screen tent with army men and then went in their hammocks.  We took a bike rides and then played Uno until lunchtime.  This afternoon we took a walk over to the fort so we could walk through the buildings. Adam fell and skinned his knee so I went back to get some bandaids.  Back at camp Jacob built a fire.  Adam helped us peel and cut up veggies for dinners. Then Adam and Daddy snuck off and bike rode into town so we could have pops with our dinner.   Jacob took his new knife over to show Grandpa.  Then he sat by the fire and whittled a stick.  Adam and Daddy went for a scooter ride.  After dinner we went for a walk around the campground. The boys rode scooters and Jacob was riding two scooters.  Grandma caught up to us and wanted to try riding a scooter.  We couldn't get her off it after that!  She rode it the rest of the big loop. (I think she took a ride on it every day after this.)  Eli dared her to go down the hill so she did.  Then he said,"what is a dare?"  Grandma went around the small loop again and Jacob gave her a thumbs up.  She got back much faster than us and asked,"what took you so long?"  We sat by the fire and Grandma made popcorn for the boys.  We also made s'mores.

You seem to be doing a lot of knitting. It would be cool to see all you produced -- maybe next year you can both knit scarves and see just how immensely long the scarves would be from one Copper Harbor vacation.

We knitted dishcloths but many have been given away. Maybe next year I'll remember to take a picture:) Scarves would fun!

Could you each knit one long stripe and then knit them together to make two stripes of one long scarf? Or knit two halves of a blanket that get attached? Each winter you could have a new blanket to use in the winter . . . the annual Copper Harbor blanket!

Shear the sheep, get the wool ready, take it to Copper Harbor and knit the year's blanket!

We could do that! Might get hot knitting a wool blanket in the summer heat!
