Day 4

Grandma's pancakes!!!

Off to do some fishing

We were up around 7:00 and the boys woke up soon after us.  Grandma made pancakes for breakfast which she made every morning for the rest of our trip!  Thank you Grandma!  Jacob worked on trying to solve the triangle peg game.  We stayed to visit with Grandma and Grandpa and Adam and Eli went to play across the road from our site.  We took a walk around the campground and the boys went fishing.  We did some knitting, relaxed in our hammocks, and took another walk.  Daddy and Jacob rode bikes into town and surprised us with pops.  After lunch Eli went in the tent and took a nap. He was so tired and slept for a couple hours. We rested in the hammocks.  Then Jared and the boys took a bike ride over to the fort store. They rode really close past a deer and her fawn.  Jacob and Adam wanted to go back to the store after Eli woke up.  They had brought some money and wanted to buy something at the store.  The boys and I rode our bikes on the trail to the fort and Daddy walked with Norman.  Eli wiped out once and was really nervous on all the hills.  We saw a duck and her ducklings in the stream as we crossed the bridge.  Jacob got a raccoon finger puppet and Adam and Eli put their money together to get army men and some candy.  We walked over to the fort playground.  Daddy turned back and went to the store so he could surprise the boys with orange push ups.  Jacob saw him heading back and knew what he was going for.  Adam and Eli were surprised.  Eli rode his bike with Daddy on the way back and did much better.  Back at camp the boys played with the army men in the screen tent.  After dinner we took a walk around the campground and then over to Pebble beach.  Eli was going to swim but changed his mind when he felt the water.  He played in the sand.  We came back and sat by the fire with Grandma and Grandpa.  We heard a Loon out on the lake.  Jacob and Adam went fishing at the dock and Adam caught a fish.  Eli played in the screen tent with his army men.  We made s'mores.  Grandpa always takes a raw marshmallow and Eli usually eats his s'more with everything raw. Adam likes to burn his marshmellows.

What!? RAW MARSHMALLOWS! ! ? Isn't than dangerous? Can't you get sick from eating food raw? Or is it "cooked" like sushi is "cooked": with acid? Does Grandma dip her marshmallow in lime juice?
