Pebble beach

Playing on some large driftwood

Picking blueberries

We got up at 2:45 and were on the road by 3:15.  The boys were so excited.  Jacob said "I feel like this is a dream!"  At the end of our road Jared noticed that our trailer lights weren't working.  Yesterday we checked them and they were working fine.  We went back home and plugged them into our other trailer and those worked.  So we knew the problem was with the trailer and not the van.  We drove to Meijer and Jared went in to buy some wiring.  On the drive to meijer I was worried we might get a ticket for the lights.  We were really nervous as we drove by a police officer who was watching traffic but he stayed where he was.  We tried different things finally found out that the lights (since they were mounted on wood) also needed to be grounded to the frame.  We got them working and left meijer at 4:45. We crossed the Mackinaw bridge at 7:30.  We got out at the gas station to stretch and had pop tarts for breakfast.  The boys watched Tom & Jerry, Looney Tunes and Dragon training.  We stopped at Walmart to get pillows because Jared and I had forgot ours.  In L'ance we stopped at the Hilltop restaurant for sweet rolls. The waitress told Eli that if we didn't eat it all he'd be doing dishes.  He really thought that we'd better finish our food.  We stopped in Kearsarge to play on the stone boat.  It was hot so Jacob rested in the shade on the boat.  As we were driving by Lake Medora Adam said, "lost a tooth!"  We arrived in Copper Harbor around 2:30. We took a drive around the campground before checking in and found almost 3 bundles of wood!  We finished setting up camp around 7:30. It was a really hot day today.  We made sandwiches for dinner.  Then we took a walk over to Pebble Beach and the boys had fun in the water.  They found a large piece of driftwood to play on.  We were in bed around 9:30.

I scrolled all the way back to read Day 1 first. It seems that all the first days are very similar. There are some things that seem to happen every year. But this year you had new challenges: getting lights to work and losing a tooth.
