Our Preschooler
Jared stayed home this morning so I could go with Adam to his first day of preschool. Adam was very, very excited. He goes to school Mon-Thurs from 8:15 – 11:30. When we got there Adam’s teacher had the kids find their names which were written in highlighter. Then they sat down and traced them. Half the students (and parents) came to class today and the other half will come tomorrow. Adam had already eaten breakfast but wanted to use his lunchbox so I packed him some fruit to eat. After some play time with tabletop toys the kids went over to sit on the circle rug. There the teacher (Miss Nicole) went over the different Centers the kids could play at during Free Choice time. Then she read a story to the kids. During free choice Adam mostly played at the sand table. But he also had fun at some other Centers in the room. The teacher took the students one at a time to pick out their name tags and Adam chose a frog for his. We then sat at the table to make a craft together. Adam traced his hand and cut it out and I did mine. Then we glued our hands on top of each other and put a heart in them. The kids sat at the table to have pretzels for snack. Back on the rug we sang and danced. We spent the rest of the day outside. Eli had a great time at home with Daddy. Daddy had to leave for work. After lunch I rocked Eli for a long time. His favorite book right now is Llama Llama red pajama. After tucking him in for a nap Adam and I played with trains. We sat on the couch and read for awhile. We went outside to play until it was time to get Jacob off the bus. I woke Eli just before we had to leave. After school Nik came over to play. He told Jacob their room was “the best room ever!” Nik's sister came over to get him after about an hour. The boys watched Shaun the Sheep. Jared got home around 5pm. Jacob fell and hurt himself. As he was laying on the couch Eli climbed up to comfort him. After dinner we went outside and took a walk in our woods and down the road. Jared saw a tree that he wanted to get close to and try to figure out what it was. Eli loves playing the harmonica and he tries to dance while he plays it. The boys caught a grasshopper and brought it inside to put in the bug cage.

Wow, Adam, you're getting to be such a big boy! Love seeing all the pictures of your class. School looks like lots of fun! I love you!
Another boy in school! What a great room Adam has! It looks like he will have a lot to do and will be learning a lot while he is there.
Eli comforting Jacob on the couch is sweet. Eli knows what it is like to hurt and how great it is to have brothers to take care of you.
What a happy looking Adam. I think he's in it for the long haul. He is having an experience that is really his and not his brothers. Once again the pictures are awesone. Norman at the slide and it seems he is trying to climb the ladder. Eli is really becoming aware of a whole bunch of new feelings. Your two school boys are ready to roll.
