Jared Here - Mom and Dad came north for a visit. Mom brought about 50 of her kids with her. or 50 plants from her garden. They came with plants but also to see Jacob play in the Midland Concert Band on Sunday the 5th. They arrived Thursday evening the 2nd of June. Friday we planted and dug holes. And dug holes and dug holes and planted and planted. And dug more holes and planted. But wow do the gardens look fantastic. Each morning mom was up early to go out and check on her planted kids. Saturday brought soccer games and Mom and Dad got to watch Eli and Adam’s last games. Both very intense games. Adam and Jacob also ref’d some games 3 each. We met Adam back at the car after Eli’s game - he was heading to his second game to ref and had the van keys. Adam was locking the doors to the van as we got there. He hit the lock button on the door and tossed the keys on the seat of the van and then shut the van door. OOPS!!! keys locked in the van. It was funny, Adam had a bit of a “uh oh” look on his face. Luckily Mom and Dad drove separately to the soccer fields and we got a ride home for the extra set of keys. and then a bit of lunch and back to the fields for Adam’s game. Adam is not allowed to touch the car keys for a while. We had a good time and made some memories there for sure. Several games of 3-13 were played. Your favorite score keeper didn’t win any. We got the slide projector out in the evening and viewed some old slides some more than 50 yrs old - some showed a very young Uncle Dee — those were really really old slides. Sunday brought church and popcorn pop and ice cream. More 3-13 games. Adam went to his friends Church youth group meeting. He had a good time and talked about the different games they had played. We went to Jacob’s concert at 2pm - but it was raining and unfortunately was rained out. It was an outside concert at a small park in Midland. Jacob was awarded a scholarship from the Midland Concert Band and was asked to play with them along with other high school and Jr. High school kids. it was really a bummer as those kids worked so hard and we were all really looking forward to the concert. He had to turn in his music so we couldn’t even have a private concert. We headed home. Mom checked on her kids again - all was good. Monday came and had to say goodbye but not before some Uno Flip games with Adam, mom and dad and I. That was a lot of fun. Mom and Dad left around 9 I think and I headed into work. Came home and we planted the garden. Got is all planted - I had to miss some of the corn planting and fence construction as I had to drive Adam to Guitar lessons. I drove 62mph the whole way and was getting about 48mpg which is really good at over 5$ a gal. Crazy. Anyway Adam and Eli helped a ton in putting in the garden - those young backs and energy levels are really helpful. Jacob was busying studying and helped clean up the mess at the end. A huge help as well. That’s about all I can think of. oh Mom forgot her cpap mask so she used mine for the week. I’m tired and ready to use my mask again…gotta take care of the old folk first.
