7/1/22

 

We worked with the sheep this morning.  Then Jacob practiced his instrument.  We headed to the campground and got there around noon.  We relaxed for awhile and had lunch.  Then we went swimming.  We played a game of 3-13 and Nana won.  Adam went to the store and surprised me with a banana laffy taffy.  Eli and I headed home around 7:00.  Jacob and Adam are spending the weekend at the campground. We worked on cleaning out the van.   Moved Bo in with the ram and Han.  Jared pulled the camping trailer out. We had popcorn and watched a movie with Eli.  

6/30/22

Vikki's basement

 We got to Vikki's house around 10:30.We first worked on taking down the full bed and bring up the king bed to her room.  The mattress barely fit up the stairs.  We shoved it up there.  Then I went to the basement and worked with the kids. The younger kids helped me wrap glassware things and box them up. Jacob and Adam swept and mopped and moved furniture.  The kids hauled alot of bags, boxes, and furniture up to the garage. We did alot of cleaning and the basement looks great.  Vikki worked on things upstairs.  She scrubbed the kitchen floor really good.  It was so dirty.  We had sandwiches for lunch.  We put up temporary walls to make a room in the basement and set up the full bed and dresser.  We put furniture in the other area and got it all set up nicely.  We helped Vikki upstairs hauling boxes to the rooms they needed to go in.  We got home around 11:30.  

6/29/22

We went to Vikki's house today and worked on cleaning and moving things out of her old house down the road.  I spackled a bunch of holes and painted those spots.  Mom cleaned out the kitchen and Vikki worked on a bunch of other things and the bathrooms.  Mom also helped with the bathroom.  Peyton helped me by pulling out a bunch of nails from the walls.  The boys and Dad worked on moving things to the new house with the truck and trailer.  I scrubbed the lower cabinets in the kitchen.  Around 2:00 we stopped for lunch.  Rody picked up pizza's and breadsticks.  Adam had walked to the dollar store and by the time he came back the pizza and breadsticks were gone.  I took him to McDonalds.  Mom and Vikki went back to the old house to finish cleaning.  I worked on getting rid of junk in the basement.  Eli, Peyton and Isaac helped me.  They helped me fill and haul up bags from the basement.  Most of it went to the trash.  The boys and Dad took a couple large loads to Goodwill.  Mom left to take Adam to soccer practice. Mom and Dad are taking a refrigerator and the washer and dryer.  Jacob and Eli left to help them unload those at their house.  We got home around 11:30pm.  We were so tired.  Stopped at McDonalds on the way home. 

6/28/22

Eli found this cabinet at Vikki's new house and wanted to use it for his fish and to display his artwork.

 

We all slept in today.  The new bed is so comfy.  I woke Jacob at noon.  The boys worked with their 4H sheep a couple times today.  They are doing well.  It was a nice relaxing day at home.  This evening we played some games of Uno flip with Adam.  We sat out on the deck and took a walk in the yard.  We face timed Grandma. 

6/27/22

Vikki's cleaned kitchen and dining room

Vikki called and said the garbage truck took all 70+ bags of trash and rolls of carpet.  They were left at three different houses.  We got to Vikki's house around 8:30.  We worked in the new house packing up boxes and bags and cleaning.  The kids helped wrap glassware and pack in boxes to donate.  Vikki picked up McDonalds for lunch.  We filled the trailer with donation items and hauled it all to Vikki's friends house.  She wants all the stuff for her garage sale.  We made a few trips to their place which wasn't far away.  Vikki and I cleaned and scrubbed the pantry shelves and kitchen cabinets.  We also cleaned and scrubbed the refrigerator.  Jared came after work so he could take the trailer home with the bed.  We are taking a queen bed which had an adjustable frame.  He took Adam with him so he could go to soccer practice.  Jared also went to the fairgrounds to fill out paperwork for 4H.  He took Jacob to his 8:30 clarinet lesson in Bay city.  I left Vikki's around 8:15 so I could pick Adam up from soccer practice.  It ended early today because the coaches weren't there.  We forgot the controller to the bed so Vikki met Jared in Bay city on her way to the campground.  We stayed up late and had popcorn pop and ice cream.  The boys missed having that on Sunday.  We took out the old bed and set up the new bed in our room.

We got to Vikki's house around 11:30. Rody had bagels and cream cheese from Apple bagel.  They were so good.  We filled up the trailer and took a load to the new house.  Jared, Rody and the older boys worked on hauling more things from the old house.  They also moved the shed and its wood platform.  They all said the platform was super heavy.  We worked in the house on emptying closets and drawers which were packed full.  Eli hauled all the bags from upstairs to the garage.  Jared painted the blue cabinets in the dining room an off white color.  We also ripped out the carpet in Isaac and Peytons room.  Cleaned them and moved furniture around.  We were busy working hard until midnight.  We were all sore and tired.  Vikki, Rody and the kids get to sleep in their new house tonight!  Yay!!

6/25/22

Before/after of the dining room

 We went to Vikki's house early this morning to help them move.  We met them at their new house.  We worked on going through closets and cabinets.  There was a china cabinet in the dining room full of glassware.  We boxed most of it up for donation.  Dad and Mom came to help.  We brought our trailer and the boys loaded it with things from their old house.  Dad came inside and his voice sounded really bad.  Vikki thought he sounded like he had covid so she gave him a covid test. He tested positive right away.  He had his trailer full so they unloaded it so he could head home.  We tested Mom too and she tested negative. She didn't stay to help just in case. We ripped out the carpet in the living room and the dining room.  There was beautiful hardwood floors underneath the carpet.  Jared changed a bunch of ceiling light fixtures.  One broke so we made a trip back to Home Depot.  Mom brought us pizza for lunch and Rody got some too.  We also warmed it up for dinner.  We stayed until late.  We were all sore and tired.
