After taking the boys to school I went to the store for packing tape. I had a lot of packages to mail today so I took a cart with me to haul them into the post office. They opened the door and had me unload the packages in the back. I made cappuccino mugs and espresso mugs on the wheel today. After school Eli and I went out to take some treats to Bo. When Jared got home from work we played some minecraft. This evening we had popcorn pop and ice cream and watched tv.

GA Thanksgiving 2021
2021 Thanksgiving returned to the monastery. We traveled down to GA again this year after a year off due to covid restrictions. Left on a Tuesday afternoon and stopped for the night in London KY. Up the next morning and off to the lego store north east of Atlanta. Then after the lego store we headed to the monastery. Many phone calls along the way asking where we were at. Rolled 200K miles on the minivan on the way to GA this year. We got to the monastery around 4:30. Then off to the grocery store with Uncle Dee, Uncle Rick, Mom, Adam and myself. Divide and concur. Uncle Rick was once again very generous and bought the food for the week. Now that he’s officially retired he’ll have to start another job to pay for Thanksgiving groceries. Thanks Uncle Rick! We really appreciate it. We played many games of 3-13 with all ate lots of great food prepared by Mom. Thanks Mom! We had wonderful visits with Br. Emilio, Fr. Peter Damion. Fr. Peter Damion picked out a two handled mug that he had requested. Desert rain is what he named the glaze. We chatted with Br. Philip, who treated us to some wonderful chocolate dipped biscoti, Br. Bernerd, and Fr. Tom Francis at the bakery. Fr. Tom Francis picture is on my wall at work. The picture is of him sweeping in the cloister. It was really nice to meet him as I’ve looked at this picture for years. He was working in the bakery putting the “Sweet Indulgence” stickers on the biscoti bags. He then said some days it is more like “sleep indulgence”. Ate lots of apple pie - lost track on the number of pies this year. Lots of ice cream was consumed as well. I think we’d do just fine with just apple pie and ice cream for 3 days. 3 days - plus a day of arrival and a day of departure. Uncle Dee and Eli had a funny exchange going all weekend with various punctuation marks being said back and forth. Eli left a surprise for Uncle Dee on the fridge… “question mark?” Had really nice weather and went on some nice walks. Another wonderful Thanksgiving at the monastery. Looking forward to next year.
