Reading the comics
Grandpa reading the boys a comic
We were up around 6:30. Grandma came over to visit with us. Adam was first up and then Eli. We play some Uno. Adam likes to deal out most of the deck to play. Its a lot of cards but its really fun. Jacob slept in until almost 9:00. After breakfast we took a walk around the campground. The boys played some game on their scooters. Except Eli because he didn't want to get hurt anymore so he ran around and played. We went to visit with Grandma for awhile. Then we took another walk while the boys played Uno. After lunch we went to Calumet. Our air mattress has a leak and we needed a new one. We stopped at Shopko but they didn't have the size we needed. Then we went to a store with a large selection is salt water taffy. The boy had fun picking out 15 pieces each. From there we went to Houghton and found the mattress we wanted. We got back to camp around 3:30. The boys stayed at the campground with Grandma and Grandpa while we went to see Leslie at the shop and bought some pottery. We showed our new pottery to Grandma and Grandpa when we got back to camp. Adam found some comics in the paper that was used to wrap our pottery. The boys played games until dinner. After dinner we took a walk around the campground. Then we walked over to Pebble beach. Jacob wanted to do some fishing in the stream. Jared saw some huge fish. Jacob had some nibbles and one got off his line but he didn't catch anything. The boys and Daddy walked the stream back and I walked on the trail with Norman. We saw a Great Blue Heron in the stream. Back at camp Grandma and Grandpa came over and we made popcorn. The boys sat by the fire and read the comics. We made s'mores. Then Adam wanted to surprised Daddy and helped me put away the camp kitchen and the cooler while he wasn't looking. We got to bed around 10:30. We finished reading the book Hatchet tonight.

Hatchet is a great book to be reading at Copper Harbor, isn't it? I remember how much I loved that book (and I was grown up when I read it for the first time)! Have you all read My Side of the Mountain? There must be a lot more that I know nothing about. Oh, I just remembered reading Julie of the Wolves. That is a good one, too.
We loved Hatchet! Thank you for the suggestions. We'll have to check those out!
