This morning Jared and I went out to check on the ewes. Ewe #82 had just lambed twins. They were already standing. She is our ewe that has had singles every years so we were surprised with the twins. She had a boy (10 lbs 10 oz) and a girl (9 lbs 13 oz). Vikki and the kids came over to visit today. Just before they left we noticed that #3 had a lot of discharge. She is a new mom (and is small) so we went out to check on her every 15 min. Around 2am she started pushing hard. She had twins that both came out in a normal position but were small. The mom was very nervous. She didn't lick them much and they weren't trying to stand. We couldn't get them to nurse so we tubed them each a couple oz of the mom's clostrum. They were still very weak and cold. The smallest one looked lifeless. We spent a long time giving them a very warm bath to bring their temp up. We spent the rest of the night working on these lambs. They were boys/girl weighing 6 lbs 2 oz and 4 lbs 3 oz. Even after warming it took a long time for the small girl to put any weight on her rear legs. When she did stand she trembled.
