Adam was off school today. We watched Mighty Machines while I drank my coffee. Much of the morning we spent outside playing in the sand and on the fort. It was nice and cool outside. We were looking at a snail that was climbing on the slide when Eli touched it and squished it. Eli pointed at the barn and said, “Barn.” Back inside Adam got out his matchbox cars and the road set. He said, “I haven’t played with these in like a year!” After lunch we tucked Eli in for a nap. Eli loves to pick out books to read before naptime. Adam layed with him in his peapod for a little while. We went outside to work on taking down fence. Adam was a great helper. He held the crowbar when I wasn’t using it and put the screws in his pocket. He also played in the barn. Inside we played catch with the bumpy balls. We also used the bilibo for a basket to throw the balls into. Adam liked making up the rules for this game. Jacob was excited to tell me all he learned about “Punk-mens” at school today. The boys played mostly with cars and the road set until dinner time. They did stopped to help me make a meatloaf. After dinner we went outside to work on the fence. The boys played in the sand box. It got dark so we quit working on the fence and played with the boys. Jacob made a treasure map. We took flashlights and walked around the yard. We went through the swamp (barn), took canoes across the lake (garden) and also went through an army. The treasure was on the deck. Eli rode on my shoulder with his flashlight. Back inside we played hide and seek in the dark until pj time.
