Blanch and her new lamb
Meridian was closed today for winter break. Jacob still had to go to Delta. I went out to check on the sheep and saw Blanch in the corner. I went closer to check on her and noticed that there was a lamb coming. I just saw the nose a one foot. I helped her deliver the lamb that was coming with one leg back. Its a girl lamb weighing 14.5 lbs. It was strong and soon was standing on its own. I moved them into a stall and took care of them. I tube fed the lamb some colostrum. Eli was awake when I went back inside. We called Nana to see if she wanted to come over. She got here around 10:30 and brought muffins. Yummy! We went out to check on the sheep and she got to see the new lambs and Bo. Blanch's lamb was weak now and wouldn't stand. We tube fed her some more colostrum. We went to school at 12:30 to get Jacob. It was snowing but the roads weren't too bad. When it was time to get Adam Nana drove. We checked on the lamb again and it was still very weak. Now it wouldn't put any weight on its legs. We tube fed her some more colostrum. Nana helped me. After Nana headed home I went back out to work with the lamb. I used the blow dryer to help warm her up. I work on trying to get her to stand and hobbled her legs together. Jared and I played a game of 3-13 after dinner. I won. We played some Minecraft with the boys.
