We headed into town around 10:00 to get our Sat goodies. Jared started his normal order at Tim Hortons and the lady taking our order finished it by saying, "And a half a dozen donuts that you'd like to pick out." We all laughed. We took a drive past our old house in town and made the usual comments of what a fine looking roof it has. We put the roof on before we sold the house about 18 years ago. Those 15 year shingles have held up well. Eli needed to be at the soccer field by 11:15 for his 12:00 game. Eli played goalie the whole game and did a really great job. Playing with his big brothers had really helped him. He has no fear and loves to jump on the ball and boot it away. Eli had an awesome stop of a ball on a penalty shot. It was such a fun game to watch. When we got home we had lunch. The boys washed their kayaks and helped load them on the van. We loaded the canoe on the trailer. I followed in the car to the boat launch near the tridge. We parked the car there and drove around looking for a place to put in on the Chippewa river. We found a nice spot to park and get in the river. We saw a lot of turtles, ducks, muskrats and a great blue heron as we paddled along. There was a little island in the middle of the river and Adam asked if he could get out. He found a nest of geese eggs. Jacob and Adam got out to look at the nest. We spent about an hour and a half on the river. We went under the tridge and paddled upstream a little way on the tittabawassee river to get out at the boat launch. Jacob and Adam stayed with the kayaks while we drove to get the van which was only about 5 min away. At home we ate a late dinner and watched Heartland.

I remember that roof....I was so sore for a few weeks after helping with it. It's the last roof I have ever worked on or want to work on. It was fun helping, but not fun with those sore muscles after. Good memory though. Eli looks like he has got some really great moves to stop the ball and kick it back out to the field now. Impressive! Nice kayaking and seeing all the things in nature on the trip. Love the pictures!
