4/30/2020

It was another rainy day today.  The boys had school work and zoom meetings today.  Eli came outside and helped me take apart a pallet.  Adam came out and helped some too.  We came in around 11:30 and Daddy came out for lunch.  After lunch I read to the boys.  This afternoon the boys worked on making a poster for Evan's birthday.  We blew up 9 balloons and tied them on a long string.  Then I worked on making planter cups.  This evening we went to Saginaw to meet my family in their church parking lot for a birthday party for Evan.  We followed social distancing but still had so much fun!!  We played a couple games, the 21 counting game and the trying to count to 15 game.  We visited and sang to the birthday boys and all had goodies we'd brought.  Then we watched him open his presents.  We had a great time!!  At home we took a walk in the woods.  Then we watched some tv before bed.

sandhill cranes

It rained all night and most of the day today.  Adam had a zoom meeting at 9:00 and Eli had his at 9:30.  I went outside to take care of the sheep.  I redid some fencing so the ewe's can get into the small paddock between theirs and the rams paddock.  They were happy to go in with the long grass.  We are planning on removing the fence between these two area's eventually.  After Jacob's zoom meeting we read Jacob's Choice until Jacob's 2:00 zoom.  We read again after that meeting.  He had another meeting at 4:30.  When Jared got out of work we hauled some trash down to the dumpster and also put some things at the end of the road.  The boys and Daddy played minecraft until dinner time.  After dinner we took a walk in the woods.  Then we went to town so I could get some groceries.

The boys worked on school work and Eli had his morning zoom meeting.  His teacher messaged me and said he is cracking her up during the zoom meetings.  We had 2 hornets get in the house today.  It was a beautiful day.  Adam and Jacob both had zoom meeting in the afternoon.  We finished reading the last book of the Little house series.  Jared got out of work a little early and tilled the garden.  I worked on cleaning in the barn.  Then we burned the ditch all the way to Stark Rd.  We didn't get inside until it was 7:30 so we just had subs and chips for dinner.

Eli's zoom meetings are Monday - Thursday at 9:30.  They did an alphabet scavenger hunt today.  They had 5 minutes to find as many items as they could.  After the boys were done with school work we read Little house and finished the book.  We started the last book in the series.  Eli had a music zoom meeting which only had one other kid plus the teacher.  He got to play some songs on his clarinet.  This afternoon the boys helped me work in the barn.  Jared got done with work early and came out to work on building shelves.  We are getting rid of so much junk.  We stopped around 6:00 and it was raining.  We watched some tv.  Then Jared and I played Sequence.  Jared won all but one game.

What a mess!

After church Jared went out to til the new garden.  The boys and I worked on cleaning the grain/storage area in the barn.  We are getting rid of some old shelves and building new ones.  After lunch we went to town to get some boards.  We got 34 2x4's and some bricks.  We started working on building the shelves.  This evening we watched a marvel movie.

Adam woke up first and woke the others to watch tv.  We had donuts and banana bread for breakfast. We took a walk down the road.  Jared started tilling a new spot for our garden.  The boys and I worked in the barn cleaning and organizing Jared's workshop to surprise him.  Jacob loved organizing all the bits and sockets.  It looks so good.  We walked by the pond and saw about 20 goldfish.  Took a walk in the woods.  The bloodroot is blooming.  Jacob made mac and cheese for a late lunch.  This evening we watched Narnia, the third one.
