Day 2

 At the fort

Lake Fanny Hooe

It rained last night but we stayed nice and dry in the tent. Jared, Adam, and I were up just before 7am.  Adam found some firewood at the campsite next to ours. While the coffee was brewing Jared and I took a walk around the campground with Adam riding his scooter. Eli woke up just after we got back. Soon Jacob was up too and we all took another walk. Then we walked over to the fort store but it was closed for another 30 min. We decided to walk around some fort buildings. On our way it started raining so we all went running for cover so we could stay dry.  After a while we went back to the store and the boys used their money to buy some things. Jacob got a little bag of rocks. Adam got some candy and Eli got a little stuffed chipmunk and some gum. Back at camp we went for a walk. Jacob stayed at the site to read and kept Wyatt with him. We made hot chocolate and all laughed at Jacob when he tried to drink from the stir stick. He thought it was a little straw.  After lunch we went to town to visit Dennis and Leslie. They gave us some shelves for our pottery again this year. Thank you Dennis and Leslie!!!  We stayed to visit for a few hours. The boys walked down to the store for pops. Back at camp we played a game of 3-13 with Jacob. We had a lot of good laughs because Daddy was being funny about all the bad hands he'd been dealt. Daddy tried to make his score the lowest by adding a decimal point.  As my Grandpa would say,  “pretty poor score keeper who can’t win.”  Haha. Adam and Eli went for a bike ride. Jacob stay to read his book while we went for a walk. By the time we got back it was time to make dinner. The family in the site next to ours was having a hard time backing their trailer into their site. I offered to move our van. As I was moving I heard his wife, who'd been directing him, scream. She had cut her leg very badly and there was lots of screaming. We gave them our first aid kit but the bandages weren’t large enough.  They used towels and duct tape and headed to the hospital in Calumet. The boys took a bike ride so they could get away from all the screaming. She ended up needing 36 stitches!  After dinner we went for a walk. Wyatt got to meet an adult standard poodle who was a pretty silver color.  Adam was riding fast on his scooter and fell. He said the scooter dragged him and left marks in the road in the road. He showed us the marks and we circled them with chalk.  Adam and Eli went for a swim in Lake Fanny Hooe. Jared built a fire and we made s’mores. Adam and I went for a bike ride and then Eli and I went for a ride. Jacob wiped out in his scooter and Daddy was getting taking care of it when we got back.  We got to sleep around 10:30
