Christmas Eve 2015

This morning we woke up to Adam telling us that the power was out.  We got out the lanterns and played some board games.  Then Jared and I did chores and pulled the generator up by the house.  We left for Mom's at around 8:30.  I had to run into meijer and then realized I'd forgotten my phone which I wanted for taking pictures.  Jared dropped me off at the store and then headed home for my phone.  We stopped at Tim Horton's for coffees on the way.  My sister's and their families were already there. Papa started off by reading the Christmas story from the bible.  He told the kids he was going to give $1 to the best listener.  He ended up giving every kid a dollar because they all were really good. The kids had drawn names for a gift exchange so we started with those.  They handed them out from youngest kid (opening) to the oldest.  The kids were all so excited!  Eli got a mini light saber set, Adam got a bow and arrow set and Jacob got a nerf target set.  Then the kids opened their gifts from Nana and Papa.  Jacob, Adam and Eli each got $10 and a Nerf modulus gun which they were super excited about.  Jared got a couple pair of Levi jeans. And I got an interchangeable rosewood knitting needle set, a knitted dishcloth, a cool tool set, a wall plug with usb, a Tim Horton's card, and a pot holder (made by Vikki).  Thank - you!!!  Adam took his bow outside to shoot it and he loves it!  Mom made a wonderful meal and it was so yummy!  Thanks Mom!!!  We had pies for dessert.  The kids had fun playing with their new toys, playing in the basement, and playing the Wii lego game.  We also played a super fun game of bingo! Each winner got to pick out a quarter or a piece of candy.  Around 5:30 we headed to church for the service and the boys (Adam and Eli) played bells.  Nana and Papa came too.  When we got home and it was still dark.  The boys played with their new nerf guns in the dark with the lanterns.  Consumers was predicting our power to be back on the day after Christmas.  Jared went to town to get gas for the generator.  The electricity came on about 10 minutes after he left.  The boys were cheering!  This evening Eli came walking out of his bedroom saying he had puked.  Jared took him to the bathroom and he puked again - poor guy!  The present are all wrapped and under the tree and the stockings are filled!  Merry Christmas!!!!!
