Jacob lost a tooth at school today. He was excited!
Bottle feeding #48. She hasn't figured it out yet.
Ewe #514 and her triplets!
Ewe #3's twin lambs started having bad diarrhea today. We are keeping them cleaned up and treating them with pesto bismol, electrolytes, and spectogard. This evening we noticed that Ewe #514 was in labor. After the boys were asleep we went back outside to check on her. It was cold this evening - burr! The ewe started laying on her side and pushing hard. Finally, after about a hour, she delivered her first lamb. A girl weighing 9 lbs 5 oz. We moved them into a stall. The mom was licking her lamb a lot (she's a crazy licker) and pawing her. The lamb tried to get up but couldn't. After awhile we went in to help. Something didn't seem right with this lamb. Her neck stretched far to the left and she leaned that way when we tried to help her stand. I believe she has something called wry neck. We tubed her with some colostrum but didn't think she was going to make it. After a while the ewe started pushing hard again. She delivered a large boy lamb, weighing 12 lbs 3 oz. He looked good but was struggling to stand. He's has curly hair and is so cute. While we worked on him we noticed two hind feet so I delivered a third lamb, a healthy boy weighing 10 lbs 5 oz. We tubed these two lambs also. These lambs were so wet it took all of our towels to dry them. Suddenly the girl was trying to stand. She was the first to nurse with me helping her balance. We worked on these lambs until around 1am. They were doing much better by then and all had learned to nurse. We came back out to check on them at 3:00 and at 5:30 and they were doing very well. The twin lambs with the diarrhea are doing much better too.

I didn't know Jacob lost a tooth until I saw this. Was that the day before I was there? Wow you sure have had the experiences with delivering and taking care of lambs. You are all amazing!
