Had to crop this picture for Jacob

At 3am we went out to check on ewe 82's lamb.  Ewe 46 had just lambed twins.  One was trying to stand and the other was trying to nurse.  We moved them into a stall.  Tubed them with some of the ewe's colostrum so we wouldn't have to worry about them for a few hours.  They are both girls weighing 11 lbs 3 oz and 9 lbs 11 oz.  We came back out around 6am to check and noticed that Ewe 614 was in labor.  She quickly pushed a small lamb out butt first (true breech).  This lamb had white muscle and couldn't use its back legs.  The ewe was not very interested in this lamb and didn't lick it much.  The next lamb came out hind legs first and it to so very small (probably under 2 lbs).  This lamb was stillborn.  We came inside to pack lunches and get the boys up for school.  Jared and I took turns trying to help the live lamb but it's back legs seemed like they couldn't extend.  Jared came inside and said he thought she needed assistance in having a third lamb.  The boy all wanted to come watch.  This lamb was also coming butt first.  It was very small and stillborn.  Took the boys to school and got there a couple minutes late.  Jared took a day off work because his back was still really sore.  We checked on the sheep every hour or so.  Our dryer isn't working (Jared ordered parts) so we have clothes hanging around the house.  Jared and I sat on the glider and built a little fire.  It was so nice outside today.  I worked on knitting a blanket with Maude's yarn.  We only got about a pound of her wool so the blanket will have her wool on the ends and Romney wool (we ordered over 6 lbs of raw fleece) in the middle.  The boys got home from school and Nik came over.  They played in the water for a long time. After Nik went home they asked if they could play in the mud.  They had a lot of fun until it was time to wash off - burr.  I filled a tub on the deck with warm water and they washed off in that before getting in the shower.  We made hotdog over the fire for dinner.  The boys did homework and then played on the computer for a little while before bed.
