12-26-13

This morning Jacob had an appointment at the doctors so we could discuss how his medication is affecting him. The only problem he is having is that it is making some foods taste different. He has lost some weight since his visit a couple weeks ago. We still haven't gotten a reply from Jacob's teacher's on how the medication is affecting his attention at school. Dr Thill recommends we keep him on this dose and give him time to adjust. Our next appointment is in March.

Adam is spending the night with Aunt Bippi tonight and Peyton get to come home with us.

She likes our new trash too!

And Eli gets to spend the night with Nana and Papa

A few days after Jacob's appointment we received this email from Mr Henderson.
( I've noticed a slight improvement in Jacob's attention over the last week or so of school before break.  I've been really happy with him overall the last couple of weeks.  He seems to be taking a great deal of pride in his work (especially his writing) and his newly acquired responsibility to take his medicine every day at 10:40.  Mr. Goff and I have put him in the position of being responsible for remembering his pill (Mr. Goff walks him back after resource time so we know that he is remembering).  I reminded him on the first day to make sure he took his meds and have not since.  He has done a great job remembering and I have told him as much.  I find that Jacob's entire outlook changes when he has these points of pride on a daily basis and it is extremely encouraging that he is able to find these points of pride himself (i.e. writing and math).  It says a lot about his self esteem and work ethic.)
