The boys brought home second marking period report cards today. Both boys reports were very good and Jacob asked if we have a sleep out because of them. Jacob got 5 O's (outstanding) in Math, Measurement, Geometry, Social Studies, and Art. He only got one N (needs improvement), which was in Science. His teacher says he is quiet and gets along well with classmates. He is making progress in reading and doing nicely in math. Jacob is still struggling to keep his focus on his tasks, even in small groups. He has learned Touch Math and it has really helped him with his addition. He passed the +2's in his timed tests and is working on passing the +3's. He is also making progress towards goals in his special education class, which is his favorite class. Adam's teacher says he is making great progress and is a classroom role model! He has mastered just about everything listed on his report card. There were a couple sight words that were circled (ones he needs to work on) but he sure rambled them off while I was looking at the report. He loves writing his sight words on paper or typing them on the computer. Adam clips up to gold just about every day. He's always so excited when he gets in the van and says, "Can I tell you about my day first? I clipped up to gold today!" Anyway we did have a sleepout and watched The Lorax and then a Jeff Corwin Experience. All three boys slept on the air mattress tonight.
