Waiting to see the cake |
Jared and I stayed up late decorating Adam’s birthday cake. He'd requested a fish cake with green, blue, purple, yellow, and green again. Jacob was excited to peek at the cake this morning on the top shelf in the fridge. I hurt my back while running and trying to get other things done. The heating pad seemed to help some. Eli kept coming over to me for kisses. He walked across the room and Adam yelled, “Eli’s walking!” We watched Diego. It was a cool morning. We went outside on the back deck for awhile. I sat on the glider with an ice pack on my back. Eli climbed up and cuddled by me. After tucking Eli in for a nap Adam and I played Candyland. Then we watched Over the Hedge while I sat on the couch with the heating pad. After lunch I did some decorating for Adam’s birthday. Eli woke up around 1pm. He’s teething and was acting very fussy after lunch. He cuddled on my lap for a long time and enjoyed me rubbing his back and singing to him. When I'd stopped singing he would start humming. He got down and was walking back and forth from Adam to me giving us kisses. Eli likes throwing Norman’s food dish on the hard floor to hear the loud sound it makes. I had Adam lay down to rest and he slept until we had to get Jacob. Jacob was excited to tell me about his field trip today. They went to see Beauty and the Beast at the Event Center. He was also excited that he got to sit in the very back of the bus on the ride there. At home I tucked Eli in for a nap. The boys played with blocks and we watched Busytown Mysteries. I was working on hanging streamers and the boys wanted to help. They really liked haning pieces of streamers around the room. I pulled out the banner I'd bought but then noticed it said Happy Retirement instead. Adam likes it anyways and wanted to hang it on his bed. Daddy picked up balloons on his way home from work. Adam loved his fish cake. Nana and Papa came over this evening to help us celebrate Adam turning 4 years old! We had pizza and breadsticks for dinner. After dinner Adam opened his gifts. He got a Wii jump start game, $5, and a Handy Mandy car set. Adam (with some help from Daddy) put together his new car. Then they played wii game until we were ready for cake/ice cream. We sang Happy Birthday and he blew out his candles. Jacob and Adam then played together with the handy mandy car and rebuilt it into a snowplow. We went outside for little while. Adam and Jacob hid in our tall grass.
