6/1/21

 Today was the boys last full day of school.  Jacob's last day was on Friday.  He has been really wanting to go through his room and get rid of stuff.  So today we spent much of the day working on his room together.  We fill a bag of trash and another bag to donate.  We then went to town to see the Old navy store that recently opened.  Jacob found some jeans, swimming trunks and a couple shirts.  We then headed to school.  On the way we stopped at McDonalds for McFlurries.  This evening Jacob and Adam had to get covid tested.  Eli had soccer practice and scrimmaged another team.  They played hard and ended in a tie.  We got home and made a late dinner and watched Three Stooges.  The lambs are healing really well.  We put Swat on their woods and let them back out with the rest of the sheep.

I woke up around 3am and went out to sleep in the chair.  I was really congested and wasn't feeling well from my cold.  I call Mom to ask if she still wanted us to come over for Memorial day but we decided to postpone it.  The boys were really bummed.  We decided to drive to Hartwick pines and spent to day hiking.  It was so beautiful and the weather was perfect.  Jacob had fun using his phone camera and took some great pictures.  This evening Jacob started a fire for us to sit by.  We roasted hot dogs over the fire for dinner.

 The lambs are healing well and doing great.  It was a beautiful day today.  I have a cold. 

5/29/21

We were up early to take care of the kitty.  Jared went to town to get our Sat goodies.  The lady taking his order mentioned that he was there early.  Jared got new blades for the lawn tractor.  The old blades were so worn that it wasn't cutting good and Jared was having to mow twice.  Now it cuts great!  Adam mowed the lawn.  Jacob asked if he could weed wack.  I was checking on the sheep and noticed a lamb in the stall that was standing funny.  I went in and caught it and it looked like it had a hot spot on its haunches.  I put a lead on it and took it outside for a closer look.  Then we saw all the maggots!  This lamb had flystrike and it was really bad!  The maggots had caused nasty sores.  This poor lamb also had big holes next to its tail that were filled with maggots!  It was awful!  We checked the other lambs and found two other lambs that had the same problem though they were not as severe.   We washed them and shear the fly struck wool and the surrounding areas.   We poured peroxide on their wounds and gave them a shot of penicillin.  We put a topical antibiotics and swat on the wounds.  I put the lambs in a stall so we can take care of them while they heal.  Jacob had to be at the soccer field for a scrimmage with his team and friends.  They had a mini tournament too.  We were there for a couple hours and had fun watching the games.  

5/28/21

It was cold and rainy this morning.  I pugged clay and then waxed pots.   Today was Jacob’s last day of school.  When we got home from school I worked on the flower beds.  We had fun shooting the air soft guns out the window at a target.  I hit a few starlings today.  Jared and I played 3-13 and I won.

5/27/21

I met Mom at Laphem's greenhouse this morning around 10:45.  We had some certificates from Meridian band to use.  We found some nice perennial plants.  Peyton and I Isaac came too.  It was cold outside so they sat in the car.  Then we all headed to my house.  We took a walk around the house to look at all the plants.  Then we went inside so Peyton and Isaac could take a test online.  I made egg salad sandwiches for lunch.  After the kids were finished we took a walk in the woods.  We had a nice visit.  The kids had fun shooting the pellet gun.  They left just before it was time for me to go get the boys from school.  Jared and I planted the new plants.  We facetimed Grandma and took her for a walk around the house to see the plants.  She showed us her beautiful wegelia bush and plants.  After dinner the boys played minecraft.  Jacob had a lot of studying to do and started when he got home from school and studied until almast midnight.  Jared and I played a game of 3-13 and Jared won by 4 points!  We dug up some artemisia and planted it by the pond.  

5/26/21

We woke the birthday boy this morning while singing Happy birthday. Daddy was pushing on him with his foot and Jacob punched at Daddy and accidentally punched Wyatt.  Jacob opened his presents this morning. He got a new bike (on order), a bike odometer, a wireless phone charger, a lego set, a big (64 oz) gatorade bottle, a ball pump and some candy. I picked him up from school at 11:00. Daddy met us at home and picked Jacob up Culvers for lunch. Jacob put together his new lego set. Then we played a game of 3-13 and Daddy won. We sat outside on the deck for awhile. Then Jacob and Daddy played minecraft. I went to school to get the boys,  They boys played minecraft. Jared and I sat on the deck and took a walk in the woods. Jacob had soccer practice from 5:30-7:00. Eli ran to tell Jacob’s coach that it was his birthday. Adam had youth group from 6:30-7:30. We stopped and picked up pizza  and breadsticks on the way home. We watched some tv while eating pizza. We sang to the birthday boy and he blew out his candles but everyone was too full to eat cake. Adam had ice cream. We played another game of 3-13 and Jacob won. Jared was the high score. Jacob and I came down to whoever went out in the last round. Jared and I played minecraft with Jacob after Adam and Eli were in bed. It was a fun day celebrating with our 16 year old!
