Adam woke up early and we checked to see if school was canceled but it wasn’t yet. Jared said the roads were bad so we should leave early. At work I got the preschool's fruits/veggies ready to go. We make the preschool's food and a driver takes it there. We had a bunch of kids come late for breakfast because a couple buses went in the ditch. The phones were down this morning for awhile. I worked on our fruits/veggies for our kids. Then I went to the computer to start entering all the breakfast kids. I was on the second or third class when we lost power. My coworker screamed and I jumped and ripped my paper. I couldn’t enter the breakfast counts so I decided to start my rounds to get a lunch count and drop off lunch cards. The kids were all excited because of the power outage as I went around to the classrooms. There was no estimate on the power coming on so we turned off the warmers and ovens and got out peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and cereal. They ended up canceling for the rest of the day and parents could pick up their kids any time after 11:30. The school was still open until 3:00. We still served three lunches but the last lunch had a lot less kids. I picked the boys up at 1:30. They were all super excited and said it was a really fun day. They were playing games with the few kids left in their classes. We still had power at our house. I made a couple apple pies and some dough for rolls. Adam and Eli had fun building a fort in the snow. Jacob helped me finish decorating the tree because we’d missed a box of ornaments. This evening we watched Inspector Gadget 2. Jacob, Jared, and I played 3-13 and Jacob won. He and I were really close at the A round.
