Happy Birthday Adam!!!

Adam had asked for a helicopter cake

Talking to Nana and Papa

Jacob won the "runner up" award in an art contest!!! We got to go to an award ceremony for that today!

Jacob's drawing will hang in the museum for the summer.
Adam picked a couple playgrounds that he wanted to visit today and this was the first.

We had a little time to ride bikes in the church parking lot before soccer.

This was Jacob's first time being goalie - he did great!!!
Jacob stopped every goal attempt except one that flew way over his head.

                                               Adam throwing the ball in.

Heading out for a ride on the rail trail.

                                                       Checking the map.

Over the tridge to the other playground that Adam asked to visit.

Such a cute and sweet 6 year old!!!

Adam got some new book in the mail! Thank you Grandma and Grandpa!!! He was flipping through the bee book saying, "look at this" as he showed Daddy many, many pages. We started reading James and the Giant Peach tonight.

Playing with cars. Adam holding his two new police cars.

Adam put on his own candles. One is sticking out the side:)
                            Singing to the birthday boy.
Eli blew several out before Adam had a chance so we had to relight them.
Adam showing Daddy where to cut his piece.

Adam came to our room during the night to sleep on the floor by our bed. He whispered, "I see my presents out there!" The other boys crawled in our bed around 6:30. Adam came out of the room crawling and scooting. We shot off streamers for the birthday boy. Adam opened his card and smaller presents which were matchbox cars, a sky ball, paint markers, a sketch book, snappers, gum and candy bars. He guessed the gum and Jacob guessed a matchbox car. As he opened the matchbox car he said, "Thank you Jacob!" Then he pulled the blankets off to see his new bike, which he loves! Right away Jacob was asking if he could get a bike for his birthday too (he will be;) Adam and the boys sat at the counter to paint with the new markers. Adam made up some hangman's to play with us. Then he went outside to feed the lamb and ride his new bike. The boys rode their bikes in the driveway for awhile. Eli stomped on some snappers from his box. Nana and Papa called to talk to the birthday boy. Around 9am we headed to town for drinks/donuts. Aunt Bippi called to talked to the birthday boy. Then Jacob wanted to talk too. Adam went into the bagel shop with Daddy and then we drove to Tim Hortons. Bloom days is going on in town so Tim Hortons was very busy (slow). Jacob won an award for an art contest and today was the award ceremony and pictures. We weren't sure we would make it on time but we were a little early. Eli really liked seeing the train at the museum and said it was his favorite.  Jacob got his picture taking with the others and its going to be in the newspaper. His drawing is very nice and we are so proud of him!!! We went home to load bikes and headed to a nearby park. We played there for awhile and ate a packed lunch. It was a beautiful day outside, mid 70's. At 12:45 Jacob had a soccer game. For the first half he was goalie and he did a great job! We were a little nervous for him and I was praying. Jacob is very uncoordinated in soccer and get easily distracted, though he has been doing better this year. Previous years in soccer we would often wonder what he was thinking about because he seemed to be in his own little world. He does enjoy it and continues to want to play. Today as he played goalie I could hardly hold back tears. The joy on his face was awesome. He's such a kind boy, often giving his team high fives, pats on the back, or encouraging words. He even said, "good job" to the boy who scored on him.  Adam's game was at 1:30 but we'd lost track of the time and were only a couple minutes early for him game. He did great too and had alot of fun. From there we headed to the rail trail, around 2:30. Daddy and the boys rode bikes (Eli on back) and I trailed behind on the scooter. It was a really nice ride. Then we went over the tridge to play at the playground there. The boys made some new friends and Jacob asked them to meet him here in 8 days (for his birthday). We stopped at McDonalds for ice cream cones on the way home per Adam's request. Once at home we made pizza for dinner and watched Star Wars. There was a package on the steps for Adam. In it were some great books from Grandma and Grandpa! Thank you!!! Adam cuddled on Daddy's lap and then my lap for a long time. Adam added more m&m's and the candles to his cake. We sang Happy Birthday to our birthday boy. Eli blew out the candles before Adam had a chance so we had to light a few again. We started reading one of Adam's new chapter book tonight. Adam got to go to sleep in our bed for awhile. I lay in there with him for a little while so we could talk. Adam said, "This entire day was really fun!!!"
